I would love to see a dnd setting based around Terry Brooks Shannara. Some tweaking would have to be done (Druids are much more similar in capabilities and fluff to Dnd wizards, and such) but I think it would be awesome. High fantasy, with multiple ruins and legends of bygone threats. Built on a post, post apocalyptic setting (the modern world, with a hidden magic vibe). It has a little bit of everything. The Word and Void series are explicity tied in with shannarra, being set in the present day with a "behind the scenes" magical battle between good and evil. And of course, Landover is connected with the modern world via the fairy mists, so you can even have an interesting twist on planar travel.

Wait a sec. Landover is surrounded on all sides by the "fairy mists", and travel through them is dangerous and capricous at best, often requiring magical beings or artifacts. The inhabitants of the mists are inscrutable, meddling in the affairs of mortals for both good and ill. The state of landover is linked to that of it's kings..... the fairy MISTS.... Landover is a friggin' Domain of Dread! The Paladin is a dark lord! Mind=Blown

Not going to lie, it's generic as all get out, but I've always wanted to see an english adaptation of Forcelia, where the Lodoss War series took place. Mystara or Greyhawk would be a good second choice, though.

I also freely admit that I am old.

The boost may have something to do with the fact that Eberron is the best campaign setting ever ;) I know that not everyone likes it, which is fine, but to me (and many others) it's the best one.

Planescape, Spelljammer, Dark Sun, and Dragolance are my main interests. Eberron has been slowly gaining me over in the last couple of years, though.

If I have to be honest, however, I'd rather see either updated material and/or additional content than straight-out revisions; to this day I still DM with all the original material from those settings and I'm not sure I'd like another "Die, Vecna, Die!" situation.

Has some Eberron fansites linked to this poll recently? It has taken a huge step forward. :-)

A few people have been spreading the news about this poll. Most of them have been targeting fan communities for individual campaign settings. Some setting communities have been a bit more "excited" about the poll than others. ;)

As for the boost to Eberron, I posted a topic about this poll at the 5th Edition forum at The Piazza, then The Piazza made that topic a featured story on their Facebook page and then Keith Baker shared that Facebook story onto his own Facebook page, four hours later.

The funny thing was that Morrus surfed past Keith Baker's page and commented on how the link was a Facebook post about a thread about his poll, and said that we should make a long chain about it. And I just linked it all around in a circle*! I think I just won the Internet!

* = There is a small chance that if Morrus actually replies to my post, that EN World, The Piazza, Facebook, Keith Baker and the universe will vanish into a black hole.

Anyhoo, I think that some Eberron fans found out about this from Keith Baker.
