Which of these books are you buying?

Complete Divine: Yes - that's one of the more important rule books
Eberron Campaign Setting: - Probably Not - got enough campaign settings, altho when it is extraordinarily good...
Planar Handbook: Maybe - no clue yet
Races of Stone: Probably Not - no clue yet, either
D&D Map Folio II: Probably - see above
D&D Basic Set: No - ...
Monster Manual III: Probably - not that I really need another monster manual
Frostburn : Probably Not - no clue yet
Eberron Whispers of the Vampire's Blade: Probably Not - see above
Special Edition Player's Handbook: Probably - SE are always cool :)
Libris Mortis The Book of Undead: Maybe - no clue yet
Shining South: Probably Not - no clue yet
Complete Arcane: Yes - I love arcane magic
Sharn : City of Towers: Probably Not - no clue yet
Races of the Wild: Maybe - no clue yet

"no clue yet" means, I have no clue what this book might be, except for guessing from the title you listed. ;)

Oh, sorry. This is sort of a companion thread for Merrics catalogue thread. That has some information, though you'd find more in the frostburn specific thread and others.

Expanded Psionics Handbook: Probably not, unless by some miracle my group decides to try out Dark Sun from the latest Dragon & Dungeon
D&D Map Folio I: No
Complete Divine: Probably, depending on whim and finances
Eberron Campaign Setting: No, not my cuppa
Planar Handbook: No, i dislike the Great Wheel cosmology and planar adventuring in general
Races of Stone: Probably, i like dwarves
D&D Map Folio II: No
D&D Basic Set: No
Monster Manual III: No, the only monster book i've ever gotten any use out of is the first MM
Frostburn : Probably, i like arctic settings; i hope they do a desert one next
Eberron Whispers of the Vampire's Blade: No
Special Edition Player's Handbook: No
Libris Mortis The Book of Undead: No
Shining South: No, don't particularly care for FR
Complete Arcane: Probably, although i never play arcane spellcasters
Sharn : City of Towers: No
Races of the Wild: Probably not; i like halflings but i don't care for elves
Map Folio 3-D: Maybe; this sounds interesting, because i like using minis

Rank these titles on how likely you are to purchase the books based on what you know or have heard about them using this ranking system:

Yes
Probably
Maybe
Probably Not
No

And, if your feeling really brave, maybe you can give a description of why you choose to rank certain books in certain ways.

Expanded Psionics Handbook:Probably No
D&D Map Folio I:No
Complete Divine: Yes
Eberron Campaign Setting: No
Planar Handbook:Probably No
Races of Stone: Maybe
D&D Map Folio II: No
D&D Basic Set: No
Monster Manual III: Maybe
Frostburn : N/A (I know nothing about this one)
Eberron Whispers of the Vampire's Blade: NO
Special Edition Player's Handbook: NO
Libris Mortis The Book of Undead: Maybe
Shining South: Maybe
Complete Arcane: Yes
Sharn : City of Towers: N/A (Again no knowledge)
Races of the Wild: Maybe
Map Folio 3-D:No

Expanded Psionics Handbook: Probably not.
But I haven't bought the 3.0 rulebook, therefore if this turns out to be an outstanding performance of the designers, it will be the first time for me to go psionics.

D&D Map Folio I: No.
D&D Map Folio II: No.
Map Folio 3-D: No.
IIRC the first two are collections of maps from the website and not new maps, why should I buy them? Maps are disposable and I don't want to spend money on them. The 3-D map instead had a very different problem: you cannot conceal it easily! ;)

Complete Divine: Maybe.
Complete Arcane: Yes.
I own the 5 classbooks of 3.0, and it should be quite straightforward that I buy these 2 as well. But I didn't dig the Complete Warrior much, and didn't buy it, so I am skeptic about what these 2 will contain. On the other hand, I am too fond of arcane spellcasters to resist on the latter... :uhoh:

Eberron Campaign Setting: No.
Eberron Whispers of the Vampire's Blade: No.
Sharn : City of Towers: No.
Eberron is a good idea, but I don't have money to invest in a new setting, nor time to play it, and if I had I'd be buying FR books.

Planar Handbook: Yes.
Manual of the Planes was my favourite 3.0 book, so how couldn't I miss this?

Races of Stone: Probably not.
Races of the Wild: Probably not.
I'll wait and see what's inside, but I am not fond of racial books nearly as much as I am of classbooks.

D&D Basic Set: No.
I don't need basics anymore.

Monster Manual III: No.
There is only a microscopic possibility that I may buy this. I don't need junk monsters and weirdos, and I doubt this 4th monster book can have something very evocative to me.

Frostburn : Probably Not.
...but since I know too few yet about this, I may change my mind.

Special Edition Player's Handbook: Maybe.
I haven't bought the 3.5 rulebooks, but I will early or late, as soon as I find a good discount. I may buy this instead, but only if the price makes sense.

Libris Mortis The Book of Undead: Maybe.
I liked the Draconomicon although I think it's more cool than useful. What I do about LM depends on how cool it will be and how useful it will be. It's possible that it will be a great book with lots of RP ideas, but also that it will be a terrible wrap.

Shining South: No.
I really like the FR regional books, but it's the kind of series that I would either buy entirely or pass on entirely.

Expanded Psionics Handbook: Yes
I'm hoping for a working and balanced psioncs system (finally!).

D&D Map Folio I: No
I have no need for this.

Complete Divine: Probably
If it's better than CW.

Eberron Campaign Setting: Yes
I like everything I've seen so far (except Extreme Explorer, ugh). After 14 years of Realms, I feel the need to change my main focus.

Planar Handbook: Maybe
If it's not a revised 3.5 Manual of the Planes.

Races of Stone: Probably Not
This has to be a *very* good, original and adaptable take on the subject for me to pick it up.

D&D Map Folio II: No
No need.

D&D Basic Set: Probably Not
I have no kids.

Monster Manual III: Maybe
I have enough monster books to last a lifetime, but if the most of the critters are cool I just might.

Frostburn : Propably Not
I don't think it would see much use in our games.

Eberron Whispers of the Vampire's Blade: Yes
Sadly, I don't have time to create adventures from scratch anymore. I'm in a buy-n-modify mode. :)

Special Edition Player's Handbook: No
Not even if they include the errata.

Libris Mortis The Book of Undead: Yes
Can't have a campaign without the undead.

Shining South: Yes
I'm looking towards to seeing Halruaa detailed.

Complete Arcane: Yes
Arcane casters are my favourite PCs. I also hope the sorcerers will finally get some nice options.

Sharn : City of Towers: Yes
This is going to be the Waterdeep of Eberron.

Races of the Wild: Probably Not
See Races of Stone above.

Map Folio 3-D: No
No need.

Since I apparently posted all this in the wrong thread, I'm reposting it here, for your reading pleasure: :D

Expanded Psionics Handbook: Sure. I will buy every Psionic complement until they get it right.
D&D Map Folio I: No way.
Complete Divine: Of course. I'm completely divine myself, actually.
Eberron Campaign Setting: Yes, I will never use it but somehow I feel strangely attracted to that one. E-ber-ron! E-ber-ron!
Planar Handbook: Yes, although the concept of D&D Planes doesn't fit my homegrown campaign. I'm sure there are one or two things worth stealing in that one.
Total Party Kill Handbook: I refuse to buy books that don't exist.
Races of Stone: No, I have Dwarves and Gnomes IMC, but they're very different from the standard races, so I have no use for that kind of book.
D&D Map Folio II: No. And I won't buy the Map Folio 3 or 4 either, and I certainly won't buy the "Map Folio, Revised Edition", or the "Map Folio Does Dallas".
D&D Basic Set: No, I already own a perfectly fine D&D Basic Set, I don't need another one.
Monster Manual III: I'd rather have the Fiend Folio II, but yes, more monsters is always good.
Frostburn : Yes. I like new things. New things are good.
Eberron Whispers of the Vampire's Blade: It's a module, right? I don't buy those.
Complete Aardvark: Hey, that might be interesting.
Special Edition Player's Handbook: No. I don't need handbooks to feel "special".
Libris Mortis The Book of Undead: No. I didn't buy the Draconothingy, I won't buy that one, or any other "Deluxe Single Monster Handbook".
Shining South: I've always thought that Forgotten Realms should be Forgotten.
Complete Arcane: Yes. I'm completely arcane too.
Sharn : City of Towers: Probably. I like fictional cities. Let's hope it's more Borgesian than Gygaxian.
Races of the Wild: No, for the same reason as "Races of Stone" (plus the whole "Elf" thing)
Map Folio 3-D: Hey. Pay attention now, will you?
