But is Peter Jackson interested in doing a D&D movie?

Maybe if we trick him by not saying it is based on the game but rather just say it is based on the NYT's best-selling fantasy fiction Dragonlance. :p

Truth be told, I have no idea who this Courtney guy, is. But Peter Jackson is the obvious choice.

Question is, would he even DO one? I very much doubt he'd want to be pigeon-holed as the "Fantasy Movie Director". The man'll probably want to direct movies OTHER than fantasies in the future. So barring a Hobbit movie (Which I REALLY wish they'd do!), I don't see him coming back to the fantasy genre for a LONG time, if ever.

Dragon Lance

I hoped that when they were making a D&D movie, that i'd be dragonlance.

Fortunately I hope they dont make DL until they can make a double or tripple movie of it... otherwise they'd bodger the thing when they try and cut it into two hours. _shudder_.

Having said that, the chap who directed LotR would do the DL movie best.

Now, I know I know that the DL Chronicals isnt a literature masterpiece, but i'd classify the story as brilliant fantasy.

I don't like DL, but I don't think it would be best made as a movie.

It would be better off to be made as a serial on HBO or Showtime.

I think the same is true of GOT.

A movie would hurt the series.

In retrospect, that would have been nice. Then the moviegoing world could despise DL as much as I do, and the D&D name would be untainted and there would be hope for a real D&D movie.
