Whoops. Voted Savage Tide. Not really sure why. I think I focused on it cause that's what we're currently going through. I wanted to vote Age of Worms though.

Wow, that's quite a broad list there. There are way too many good adventures on there for me to pick one over all of the others. I wouldn't go for RttToEE unless your group likes a lot of dungeon crawling. I have Caverns of Thracia and have read through it, but haven't run it. After reading it I was a little underwhelmed and probably will never use it as a result.

I forgive you Dog Moon. At least if you've read "Enemies of My Enemy." and loved it as much as I did. :)

I guess since I've never heard even heard of that, I can't be forgiven. :(

And am I to assume that since you're not numbering these posts, your not limited to 10/day anymore?

How about my ranked list of the ones I have read/skimmed:
Age of Worms/The Whispering Cairn - Kill a god, after a lengthly campaign. Fun stuff.
Savage Tide - Awaiting the climactic conclusion, but if Enemy of my enemy is any indicator... it's gunna be a wow.
Banewarrens - Someday I will get a chance to run this. Not on your list but a great thing is Ptolus, it has a few level 1 - 20 campaigns within it and is probably the best book I have bought in a while.
Lost City of Barakus - I was a player in this (still am), it's a fun adventure that seems easy to adapat to whatever you want to run.
Red Hand of Doom - Fight in an epic war, heck ya! I started this but the group fell apart
Shackled City - Paizo's first foray, if you are going to do this buy the book, not the back issues.
Expedition to Ravenloft - Reminded me a lot of the old I4 module.
Rappan Athuk (Reloaded?) - I bought the boxed set, it looks a bit overwhelming... as in deadly. Use with caution.
Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil - Long adventure that can become a deathtrap fairly quickly.
Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde

Arrayed throughout the list:
Goodman Games' Dungeon Crawl Classics - There are some really great ones and some dogs in this list. I enjoyed Mysterious Tower for what it's worth, and The Adventure Begins is a great value for low level adventures.

Haven't read:
The Grey Citadel
Vault of Larrin Karr
Wizard's Amulet - On my list to buy someday
Crucible of Freya
Tomb of Abysthor
Caverns of Thracia - I ran this when I was a kid... a new version of it? Cool.
Coils of Set - This one I seem to recall from long ago, is it a remake? I'll have to look at this more. I might be thinking of Temple of Ra Accursed by Set or something.

Festivus, just so you know, Wizard's Amulet is actually a free adventure that you generally run as a prequel to Crucible of Freya. You can download it from the Necromancer Games site. It is 3.0 but it shouldn't take much effort to change it over to 3.5.

Honestly, without further criteria to somehow rank the adventures, I can't tell you which is the best. They are all very different from one another. Some of my favorites are on this list.

In Order:
Dungeon Crawl Classics (There are some really good ones, and some not so good. Get recommendations before you buy. The adventures that have won awards are good choices)
Doom of Listonshire
Savage Tide
Expedition to Castle Ravenloft
Age of Worms
Shackled City
Expedition to Castle Ravenloft
Shattered Gates of Slaughtergard
Red Hand of Doom

I like all of these adventures. Shattered gates of Slaughtergard has a few odd layout issues, but overall a good adventure. Red Hand of Doom assumes has a lot of really good maps, and a good plot, but it assumes that the characters are maximized, so if they aren't it could easily be a TPK (just be careful, is all I'm saying).

If I had to pick one adventure, I would say it's a toss-up between Idylls of the Rat King (DCC #1) and Doom of Listonshire (I don't think this one was on your list, but it's worth getting).

If I were to rank them, I would do it like this, but really it's deceiving because they are all quite good. You can't go wrong with any of these.

  1. Savage Tide - Excellent AP. Really turning out to be something amazing.
  2. AoW/Whispering Cairn - I am starting this one in two weeks, reading the first 4 adventures, it's very good so far, and well reviewed.
  3. Lost City of Barakus - This was a ton of fun, more adventure in the region than you need.
  4. Red Hand of Doom - Only read this one, excellent quality, great maps, good story.
  5. Banewarrens - this one is a killer and one of Malhavoc's best.
  6. Vault of Larrin Karr - Another Necromancer Games classic. Large adventure, deep story, tough.
  7. Shackled City - first Dungeon 1-20 AP, the one that set the bar, get the hardback though.
  8. Goodman Games' DCCs - These are good mostly, very easy to integrate into a homebrew or to play in DCC World. DCC 1, 3, 5 are my favorites.
  9. Tomb of Abysthor - If it was updated to 3.5 it would be near the top of my list.
  10. Rappan Athuk - (Reloaded) is a huge meat-grinder. PC beware, but it IS a classic, for sure.
  11. Coils of Set - I liked this read, but didn't actually play/DM it at all.
  12. The Grey Citadel - I read this, don't remember much.
  13. Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde - only skimmed it. I kinda like the new Delve format, but I have no experience running it.
  14. Wizard's Amulet/Crucible of Freya - also a classic, but needs a 3.5 revision.

I didn't read or run through these:
  • Expedition to Ravenloft
  • Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil
  • Caverns of Thracia

Ones I recommend, that AREN'T on the list

  1. Original Freeport Trilogy - Really great. The whole Freeport thing is really great - pirates, evil cults, politics, parties, good fun for all.
  2. War of the Burning Sky AP - Big war, lots of intrigue, plots, multiple storylines
  3. Drow War Series (Mongoose) - this was a blast to run, I did a recent review.
  4. Doom of Listenshire - I liked this a lot, Ari Marmell (I believe) did this one. It is one of the better [edit]Mongoose Necromancer Games[/edit] adventures and that is saying a lot because they are all very good, you should check out their whole line, even the ones lost in the fog of KenzerCo.
  5. Castle Shadowcrag - I have my patron's copy. Phbtbtbtbtbtbttbt.
  6. Ptolus - Best production quality ever. Huge, Monte Cook's opus.
