Which order to resolve poison and death attacks?

Death Attack, then Poison.


The poison hasn't even been introduced into the victim until the death attack has already taken place. From a metagame viewpoint, the poison is there in case the death attack fails the poison may be able to pick up the slack and finish the target off.

You're thinking of hold person's special property of allowing saves to end the paralysis each round. Paralysis in general doesn't allow any additional saves.

Actually, I'm thinking of the fort save to resist the secondary effect of the poison. Or the primary effect, even.
