Y'know, the more I look at Sorcerer, the more I like it - especially the wild magic. I like unpredictability in a game, though. Case in point, last night, when my wizard accidentally scored a crit on an ally with his "shock orb", I apologized profusely... but secretly, I was giddy with glee.
So, crazy wild magic sorcerer = pure awesome.
Bard, however, is my #1 interest. I didn't think it would be, until I played the preview bard last week. I LOVE the domination ability... it reminds me of my favourite class of all-time, the Spellthief. The bard essentially deprives an enemy of an action (plus), grants all allies combat advantage against that enemy (plus), and makes that enemy attack another enemy... twice (plus).
Using your enemies' resources against them is pretty much the coolest thing in the world. Except for maybe hot sauce-flavoured ice cream (patent pending).

Now, those are the classes that are awesome. Classes I don't like?
Avenger: The name is the first strike against it. I imagine a guy with a red, white, and blue shield with parent issues. Seriously, though, it just seems like a boring class... hitting and hitting and hitting... blech. Maybe once I see some powers, I'll change my mind, but the basic outline right now just isn't doing it for me.
Invoker: A divine controller is kind of cool, but I don't really like the powers this guy has (or what I've seen of them so far, in the CB). On the plus side, it is at least a different type of controller than the "let's use burst attacks" one we've seen elsewhere. Also, I'm not big on the basic theme of this character class.
Warden: Boo. A tough warrior defender that... gets plants and whatnot to protect him. Sounds lame... especially when the PCs are in the dungeon, surrounded by Lava, and the Warden uses this power to summon tree roots. That's a "WTF" moment. And then, next session, when there's an aerial chase scene, hundreds of feet in the air, and the warden... summons tree roots.
I realize you can reflavour things as, like, lava or winds, but it just don't seem right to me. It seems to invite all manner of silliness. Plus, I keep thinking of that really gross tree-roots scene in Evil Dead. And that just ain't right.
