D&D (2024) Which subclasses “should” have been in 2024

I would have certainly not included psionics subclasses in the PHB, as this now forces the DM to include psionics by default.

"This game(or world) won't have psionics. Don't pick any of those classes."

Things, ANY things, being in the PHB doesn't "force" a DM to do squat/include anything.

Dance bards aren't going to replace monks. One attack per round, no speed or mobility powers, etc. they are spellcasters who can throw a punch. The new monk is going to run a literal circle in melee against a dance bard.

They are spellcasters who have access to 9 level spells and, due to changes to new bard, an access to two spell lists. Dance Bard doesn't need to be on pair with Monk, it just needs Bard few Monk things it cannot get from Spells for bard to be able to replace and overshadow the Monk in every single possible scenario ever.

There should have been three interesting wizard guilds that focused on more than a single spell school. Also, a "hedge witch" subclass for those who want to thumb their nose at Organized Magic and be without ties to a guild.

No offense but if you are thinking like that then you might as well say that all spell casters can overshadow the monk.
The monk gets 5 attacks per round where the bard, if they use concentration on haste can still only get a max of 3. The monks movement is better than a barda even with spells. This is ignoring your subclass abilities with the monk.

No offense but if you are thinking like that then you might as well say that all spell casters can overshadow the monk.
The monk gets 5 attacks per round where the bard, if they use concentration on haste can still only get a max of 3. The monks movement is better than a barda even with spells. This is ignoring your subclass abilities with the monk.

Except spellcasters were already overshadowing the Monk and all martials, this subclass literally took away and gave to Bard very few remaining things that diffirentiated Monk enough to not be 100% overshadowed. Now any random loser who likes to dance will outdo a character who worked whole life to perfect their body and become pure master of martial arts because people who don't consider full casters best thing ever apparently exist to be humilated at the table in WotC's eyes

Shield, Silvery Barbs, Fiendish Rebuke, Blade Ward, Expeditious Retreat, Mirror Image, Haste...again, Bard has access to two whole spell lists with magical secrets, it literally can pick spells to outperform the Monk and being unable to do unarmed attack and getting godo unarmed ac were the only things it couldn't easily replicate.

Also, college of Swords Bard is argurably better Fighter than a Fighter. Because WotC gives the full casters all buffs and powers, while martials get to be laughed at.
