Ugh I was watching that match, I remember. I usually watch the Superbowl, as a sort of hangover of the brief period in the late 1980s and 1990s when NFL was popular in the UK (it kinda is again now oddly enough, the stadium US teams play at most here is near-ish me and it's always funny to down to Seven Sisters and see hundreds/thousands of Cheeseheads or w/e), and because my brother and I played so much Madden from like 1992 to about 2005.

I was in London back in like 2016 for a trip with my buddy. It just so happened there was an NFL game being played there. It was Commanders vs. Browns I believe. the game ended in a tie which happens like once in a hundred games. Anyways, we were not at the game but were drinking in a pub when a sea of NFL jersey's entered. I looked at one fella and asked him how the game was. He stared at me for an uncomfortably long time as the wheels turned in his head. I think he had to figure out which game I was talking about, and that my accent meant I was a yank, things that should have registered immediately. Eventually, he responded it was great. We invited him and his mate to hang with us and talk Football Americano over pints. was a good time.

As for rooting interests, I'd have to say "meteor" (though it's not as bad as if the Rams had won), not just because I don't want either of these teams to win but also because it would mean the 49ers would have to move out of Santa Clara (on account of it not existing anymore, on account of the meteor) and the electrical substation will stop destroying their health and maybe we stop wasting our own generational talent at running back
