#6 146 Greyhawk
#7 118 Ravenloft
#8 112 Dragonlance
#9 99 Al-Qadim
#10 92 Spelljammer
#11 68 Birthright

#17 30 Red Steel / Savage Coast
#18 27 Blackmoor
#19 27 Lankhmar

#21 22 Kingdom of Kalamar
#22 21 Council of Wyrms
#23 21 Masque of the Red Death
#24 13 Jakandor
#25 5 Pelinore

We're already getting Forgotten Realms and Eberron, so I'd love to see the rest of that Top Ten rounded out. Especially Dark Sun, Planescape, and Ravenloft. Boy, would I love it if Ravenloft would come out! It's the penultimate "Points of Light" setting. Only question is how it'd fit into the new cosmology. Personally, I think the old explanation of a demiplane would suit the new cosmology fine. Just say that demiplanes float in the Astral Sea, instead. According to wikipedia, "demiplanes are often constructed to resemble the Material Plane". That's the case with Ravenloft. It was created in the Astral Sea and constructed to resemble the World, so much so that it even has it's own Feywild and Shadowfell mirrors. I think that'd work fine. Then we'd have our real Points of Light setting.

Considering that WotC has announced they will publish one setting per year, we could see five or six before the next edition. But, remember that over here there are 311 votes for Dark Sun. Even assuming 100% of the voters here voted on that one, you're still missing a couple of votes.

I think Ravenloft would work fine as a bit of the shadowfell. The whole "right next to the real world" thing works to it's advantage here--It's pretty easy for stuff from the Material Plane to get drawn in to the shadowfell. The only problem is, that might make escaping from ravenloft a bit too easy.

From the panel at I-CON:

Greyhawk and Dragonlance areis on the 'short list' (FR and Eberron were previously announced), and they're still looking at 1 world/year.

They also 'intend' to continue supporting Greyhawk due to it's legacy.

Sorry for the ninja-edit

If we don't get Greyhawk, then I'd at least like to see some kind of setting that's based on the old fantasy classics: Howard, Leiber, Moorcock, Tolkein, Vance, et al. If WotC doesn't do it themselves, then I hope that they'd give a 3rd party permission to do it.

I'm going to have to check out Birthright. I wasn't playing that much D&D at the time Birthright came out, so I don't know much about it. I've seen mostly positive posts about it, but they are few in number.
