Whirlwind Questions

Nikosandros

Golden Procrastinator
Hello,

I have a couple of questions about the whirlwind spell...

1) How many creatures can be held suspended at the same time?

2) What happens exactly to a creature that is held suspended? I know that it takes 1d8 damage each round and it is carried by the cyclone... but is it completely helpless? If not, what kind of actions can it take? What kind of AC has it got?

Thanks in advance!

1) AFAICS there is no limit on the number of creatures that can be held suspended at the same time.

2) I believe the creature is picked up and held above the ground inside the Whirlwind. IMO the creature would not be not helpless, would have its normal AC, and could take any actions it would normaly be entitled to unless those actions depended on contact with the ground (such as normal land movement).

Yes... I can't find any limit either. I have this funny image of fifty kobolds being swirled about...

So you think that the wording 'hapless souls' is just flavor text? It could be, as there in no further explanation...

I still think it strange that a creature caught in the cyclone could attack and cast spells...
