Whither OotS?

What will OotS do?

Perhaps the Order of the Stick will end when the OotS-world will be destroyed in some kind of apocalyptic conversion, which will make everybody be reborn as a 4th edition character thanks to the ultimate words of power spoken at the wrong place, for the wrong reasons, but at the right time by Varsuvius. :)

Or simply re-speccing (spelling?). It's an official rule in D&D 3.5, having been introduced in Players Handbook 2 (or was it Dungeon Master's Handbook 2?). Well, whatever, everything's possible.

I think having a switch to 4e would be hilarious, but I also think the PCs should be reset to level 1. This would be a funny take on WotC's comment that direct conversion is impossible and that groups should start new campaigns beginning at level 1.

I mean c'mon ... Tell me you don't think Elan shouting "I'm a Warlord!" wouldn't be hysterical ... or Belkar's outrage at being a level 1 shmuck ... or Varsuvius suddenly turning into an Eladrin ... Go ahead, try ... :)

Imo it should stay 3.0 because in 4.0 the amount of metagaming which is one of the thinks which makes OotS funny is supposed to be the norm.
But having one 4E party in OotS so we can laugh about the huge abstraction in the 4E rules is fine by me.
Dude, a 4e OotS will make so much fun of the "4e metagaming" it's not even funny. Honestly, I think a 4e OotS is exactly what you want ... :)

I think it should switch to both, with competing rule sets out there, and mass confusion by the characters about what their abilities are. Eventually it can settle down into one (most likely 4E)
