Who was your first RPG Charcater and what ever happened to him/her

My first character was a fighter from the old D&D red box. He died in his first fight. I then created a fighter, thief and a wizard. They died after the third fight. It was hard trying to learn the rules with just one person. Finally, I created two fighters, a thief and a wizard. They lasted until fifth level but I went on to other characters when I joined a group.

My first character was actually a pair that I made, when my friend got hold of Basic D&D in 1981. I was 8, he was 9 or 10, and we were the only two. I no longer remember much about the game, although I do remember one character was a Fighter, and the other was a Magic User named White Feather. They lost their lives battling several skeletons. That one magic missile didn't go very far. Shortly after that I had a tripleclassed half-elf (I don't remember the name) and we had converted to AD&D, the first game I actually owned any of. We had also found more players. I played on and off until high school when 2nd edition came out, and I consider my gaming to have really taken off then. This thread is bringing back all kinds of memories. I've never had a signature character, and I've done a lot of DMing, but my favourite character ever (until 3rd edition) was Quez O'Coatl, the Fremlin Wildmage.

Well...I had no idea what I was doing. People just handed me dice and told me to roll them. From their reaction, I gathered my stats were good...but I had no idea really.

It was 1st edition...and I went with a monk. They all groaned, saying I should play something else with all those stats (nothing under 15...and this was 3d6, arrange to taste).

After I decided on a monk, they told me to roll d%...I rolled 98. They groaned again...I was psionic. I rolled a bunch more times..all of them high, mostly 90's or 100.

Later, having played the monk for awhile, I asked if I could do that dual class thing. They said sure...I still had no clue. Dual classed to a wizard.

About a month after I made it back to 8th level (where my monk had been)...the GM made me retire the character, with my grossly high level of psionics and sick monk/wizard combination, I was upsetting the balance of his campaign.

It was only years later that I came to realize what a munchkin I was....I just didn't realize it...and it sure wasn't intentional.

My first RPG character was a 2nd Edition AD&D fighter/thief. Died an ignoble death at the hands of a pack of kobolds. He will not be missed. :)

My first RPG character was a 1st edition AD&D human thief named Judy. I chose to play her because there was only one lead minature not already being used, a human female thief.

I did not know anything about how stats worked so her highest stat was in Intelligence. (I rolled 3d6 and put them in order).

The game was already in progress with the party being in some large temple underground. I did not know what to do so I asked one of the other players what I should do. He said I should scout ahead since I was supposed to be good a sneaking around. Judy snuck up a corridor, looked around a corner, and was promptly knocked unconscious by a water barrel thrown by a hill giant guard. :)

She was saved by the other party members and lasted until the end of the evening when she ran into a petrification gas trap on the first chest I tried to unlock. Needless to say, I was hooked.

Checking memory...bleep, b beep, beep...

Since I mostly ran games back in the day (10 years ago, I think?), my first character was in origional D&D (Mystara) and his name was Ranak Sienfealt, Guild Master uh...head merchant... of Karmikos. Yyep. 13th level thief, neutral evil. Yes, that's right (and yes I am bragging). I fit an evil character into a hero-based campaign. Something that most gamers find it imposible to do unless they are accomplished GM's themselves.

5'4" 143 lbs of pure maliciousness and greed. Completely bald (from lightning teleport...ouch!). Later, received flame tatoos to cover most of head and 3 piercings-- 1 in each ear and 1 in my septum, all gold. Ugliest man you've ever seen. Pock marks and scars. All my stats were 10s and 11s except my all commanding dex of 17 (16 up until 11th level). Another thing most gamers don't know how to do-- deal with mediocre rolls. Back in my day, we walded to the castle with our 10s and 11s...AND WE LIKED IT!!

Am I ranting again? :( sorry people..."sniff"

Septimus Umbra-Ferrum: a First ed LE Dark Elf Fighter/Thief (assasin) who had a penchant for displaying the corpses of people he killed in rather macarbe fasions. We were all members of a Thieves guld in a city loosely set in either Greyhawk or Mysteria. Not that it mattered, you could count the number of times we left the city on one hand. When I retired him he was level 13/15. Most memorable thing we did was killed a number of mages attempting to summon a group of angels who were supposed to put a stop to a war between two other countries. A war that was proveing to be highly profitable for us. It was a interesting little scrap.

Right now I use him as a sorta boogyman/cow from space whenever a player pisses me off royaly. I pass them a picture of him and tell them that they are haveing dreams about him killing them but they always wake up before hand. Basically once I do that they player has about 2 sessions to either shape up or die a very grusome death. It's always kinda funny when I bag the first players character with him since there is a rule in my group that no who knows about Septimus is allowed to talk about him. Therefore it is always funny when I tell the rest of the group to please leave the room for a while, all the people who have played with me for a while just kinda roll their eyes and offer sympathetic looks while the rest come back in wondering why the hell they woke up in the morning only to see bob the fighter hanging from a tree with his... (grapic discription of what he looked like left out).

I think it was a Elven fighter named Akar that was my first character. But I cant really remember how he died. But as there have been many Fighter characters named Akar after that one ( never twice in one game-setting) he must have made an impression :).

My favorite char was a healer/sorcerer named Maldur, I liked that char so much I still use his name.
