Who'd do the art for your campaign?

Hey, all.

I was just surfing through a favorite fantasy artist's web gallery (Michael Whelan - http://www.glassonion.com), and thought that a lot of my architecture, character, color, and "feel" come from this guy's art...

At times, Phil Foglio might do a better job of what transpires, but Whelan's got my fantasy-brain pretty well mapped...what about you guys? (Now's a perfect time to suck up to Claudio ;) )

Who, if you could ask a big-shot-fantasy-artist, would you like to illustrate your campaign/world/PCs/NPCs/magic/etc?

Only one! Dat's da rule o' da game, yo.

MY first thought was Jeff Dee, Jim Roslof, and Bill Willingham...but then you put in the caveat that it could only be ONE person...

Angus McBride...his Rolemaster and Middle Earth work was fantastic.

Larry Elmore "Winter Campaign" perfectly captures the first 7 levels of my campaign (The PCs have now moved south).

I think I'd go with Matt Stawicki. He's the guy who's been doing the covers for the recent Dragonlance editions. He's got a wonderful color sense and a feel for classic fantasy elements that I enjoy. I'm also a sucker for anyone who goes a little overboard in using contrasting cool and warm colors.

That's a hell of a dragon, and if I were only slightly less responsible, I'd photoshop it to be a white dragon and use it in my story hour.

Jim Burns (see here ). More SF than fantasy, and OK so he does sometimes stray into the big-breasted women thing, but I love his style.

Whelan's work looks nice, but hell, what's with those giant chickens? :)

I'll go a different way - Art Adams. He's a comic book artist (or at least that's where I found his work first). Did X-Men for a while (during Asgard Wars) and the Longshot series. I've just always liked he detail.
