i pipe in when i have something to say - and someone else hasn't done a reasonably good job of saying it already.

but then again, i lurk everywhere.

OK, that made my day. It's like learning that Santa Claus is real.

Demiurge out.

So that's the guy whose job it is to provide others with a face to match with what they know is an amalgamated AI of everyone they've never met ... and some they have.

...

That sentence was long and confusing, wasn't it? Well, that's me. Long and confusing.

I'm a mostly-lurker. I rarely have the time to get involved in any indepth forum discussions. That whole work-family-life thing gets in the way a lot. What time I do have to dedicate to gaming I spend prepping my own game (fancy that). I usually check out the front page of ENworld to see if there is any interesting gaming news/new products/reviews or recent forum topics that interest me. I'll refresh it a few times a day. When I do post, it's usually to the general discussion forum or the rules forum.

Back when I was stuck off work on disability a few years ago, I lurked here (and on other gaming forums) big time.

I like lurking in here, and usually by the time I get to a thread (and finish reading it!) it's reached some sort of conclusion or consensus. Then I go on to another thread and it all repeats itself.

This thread has inspired be to stop lurking, register and make my first post.

It feels good. :)

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels intimidated by the knowledge and the experience of some of the posters on these messageboards. Or maybe it's just how well they can say the things I want to, but usually can't put into words.

But I have learned a lot from visiting this website, and I'm sure I'll learn alot more in the future.

Welcome aboard. I'm glad to see new posters join the boards. It brings a fresh perspective that I feel is helpful.

I urge you and others like you not to feel intimidated about posting. If you could have seen how poor my rules understanding was when I first came to ENWorld, it would have made anyone feel like a rules guru. It was only by asking questions that I felt a little foolish posing to the wisdom of these boards that I've improved my understanding of the game (which is still far from perfect).

See you around the boards, River Tam.
