Whole lotta lurkin' goin' on

I would never have thought that my modest post count would actually put me in the top 10%. I guess I am more chatty than I thought. :D

And when I see a topic I would be interested in contributing to (or think of one I'd consider worth posting), the amount of effort in making a worthwhile post is usually just enough to make me not bother. It's a vicious cycle :D

So true! The same thing happends with me. That, or after I read a few more posts on a thread I realize whatever I was planning to post, has already been said three times over. Oh well.

What gets me is there is this user with almost 9000 posts but he ditched ENworld for WoW…

I think his username was like AMG or something like that... It's been so long since he's updated his PbP games that I cannot really remember. ;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just remember, its your own fault this happened. :p

But then you should quote a chunk of what they posted and say, "I completely agree with [poster X]!" It both boosts your post count (which isn't really important) and feeds the needy egos of the attention whores of the boards (which is really important). ;)

See how easy that was! And fun too! Talmun, I could send you my list of subscribed threads and you'd have your postcount to 1,000 in no time.

Yeah. 6-7 hours of non-stop posting, I think.

Hey, that does work.
I didnt think subscribed threads worked anymore? Did that get turned on again after the upgrade ? How did I miss that ?

I agree com....oh, wait :D .

True, but the cut/paste function might start to smoke from over-use.

So that I'm not totally off-topic:
I've been a lurker since 1999/2000, but it was only after I started working in places that allowed me to visit gaming sites and post that I registered and started posting here. For a while, I had a 2 post per day average, but switching jobs and other RL concerns intruded. I post a little more now, in between calls (I work an ISP helpdesk), hmmm, if people could set up their own modems I'd have a shot at breaking a thousand posts...

I, too, fall victim to post-apathy; the over-riding thought that what I am posting/would post has already been said and therefore I, by extension, must be superfluous. I then curl up in a ball and begin to cry...but that's another thread. :heh:

Wow, I just looked up my standings and see I have posted more than some people whom I though posted alot. BTW this is post 918 so I am not far from that group of 1,ooo plus posts.

I have been posting since Eric's boards but just dont do it to often.
