Who's from the UK?

Morrus

Well, that was fun

I haven't done this in a couple of years, so I thought I'd take a quick stock of who here is from the UK. It's hard to keep track amongst all those yanks talking about their basketball and stuff in the Off Topic forum!

So, if you're from the UK, please post here and let us know a little about yourself. We'll form a super-secret club or something - at least we'll understand what each other is talking about. It'll be fun, I tell you!

I'll start. I'm in Southampton. 30 years old and something of a movie buff. I have three fish and a flatmate. I spend most of every weekend hungover. I smoke too much. Oh, and I play D&D, too, in case you hadn't guessed (Tuesday night game, I'm the DM and I never manage to prepare in time).

Who's next?

Does this count as a "me too" post?

I'm in Southend in Essex (an exiled Scot) working in the Civil Service for far too long.
I'm too close to 40 now to worry any more :), been gaming for 20 of them!
DM-ing a Thursday D&D game (Greyhawk) interspersed with monthly Shadowruns and playing in a Sunday Eberron game. Like Morrus I'm a bit of a movie buff and also into music (prog rock, folk and psychedelic). Play the guitar a little (currently own 6).

Hello. I'm Rob and I have a problem.

The problem is that I don't get to game enough!

I'm 41 and have been playing D&D since I was 12 (I still have the White Box), although we stopped playing it for a few years to concentrate on Runequest.

I am a Software Developer with a well-known manufacturer of performance engines and I too am into movies and music. I think I see a pattern emerging.
Favourite films: Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, Aliens.
Fave Bands: Rush, Metallica, Queensryche, Jethro Tull.
Fave Authors: Iain Banks, Joe Haldeman, Pratchett, Phil Dick.

I GMd an AD&D1 campaign for 15 years which has now turned into a 3.5 campaign (1 year old and counting). We only play every other Sunday or so, but I would game all day every day if I could.

Hi, my name is Antony and I'm a roleplayer.

I live in Hampshire, another exile, but this time from Tesside. I too am an Analyst Programmer for a software house specialising in the aviation industry.

I have been roleplaying, and tinkering with roleplaying rules, for 20 years, and I am presently running a D20 Modern campaign that is a cross between Sliders and Stargate, with some time travel and lots of humour.

Visit me at Merlin's Workshop, Home of Classically Modern, Revised. Complete D20 Class Integration: Historical, Modern, Future, Psionic and Archaic. Generic classes. Epic Progression, and much more.

I am, although I haven't been back in 5 years. I'm settled in Oregon, now. Married. No kids. 2 dogs. Movie buff. I used to like prog rock, but no more. More of a punk and suburban fan now.

Oh, and I smoke too much as well.

Well, I am from New Zealand but have lived in London for the past 2 years - does that count? One of my passports says I'm British.

Glad to see Morrus is from Southampton as that is where my father comes from and where my footballing loyalty lies (we will stay up this season). A nice city.

I'm 32 and have gamed since I was 11 or so. I fondly remember having my first character killed by the crab spider on the back of the curtain in the sample adventure in the basic rule book.

I work for KPMG doing competitive intelligence. I like to run along the Thames or through Hyde Park and play a bit of footy as well. Sadly I have no gaming group over here, but somehow a lot of cash still seems to get spent on gaming books.

Well, I'll add to the growing list of ENWorlders from Hampshire. I'm 24, and in Andover, north Hampshire, although I'll be moving to Cambridge in about a month.

I'm a civil servant, and a sport enthusiast. As a Spurs, Quins and Hampshire fan, though, you couldn't exactly call me a connoisseur!

Sadly, the only DnD I get to play at the moment is the PbEM game I have been running for about 4 years now from which my handle comes.

I'm in Aberystwyth, a little town in deepest darkest Wales :)p). I'm currently DMing a d20 Modern (not future) GeneTech campaign, running my own homebrew, playing in a gladiator campaign, and playing two other PbEM games. So, pretty busy ;). I'm also working on a few freelance projects for different publishers.

I was born in Canterbury, Kent, but my family owns several farms in Yorkshire. I moved to Wales about eight years ago.

Coventry here, although born in Surrey and lived most of my secondary school years in Tunbridge Wells (Kent).

I work for the University of Warwick in a random admin position, hopefully soon moving over to IT support and development. Yeap, I'm another geek.

I'm not currently running a game (one of the reasons I'm mainly lurking rather than posting), but I'm hoping to soon run a game set in Narnia using Grim Tales. The idea is adult characters who have lived there all their lives, rather than visiting sprogs. Weird, eh?

Born and bred in Liverpool, England. I'm 26, a software developer for a major gambling company and father of 5. I get to play twice a week, once with the wife (where I DM), and once with friends (where I sometimes DM). I've played since I got the red boxed set aged 10, but really cut my teeth on AD&D.

I don't get to post much, but that's 'cause I get watched at work!
