Yeah. Downloading stuff now is the first thing I do when I get home. Yesterday, I picked up a free Goodman Games' Adventure that I want to run as an introductory thing. I also picked up the fantastic Europe 1483 (PDF Board games!? How cool is that!?). A book, 200+ pages, of superhero powers for the d6 system (one of my group's overall favourite systems) makes me want to run a superhero game. Moebius Adventures has a neat chargen system that I enjoyed fiddling with, even if I'm ambivalent towards the system itself.
And today! Today was AWESOME.
Twilight 2000, a game I've always wanted to play, for FREE. I spent two hours reading that book, making characters (it's easy, once you get the gist of it). I really want to find out how that thing plays (and I might just run a Play By Post to do it). Both pulp aids (I think one was released on monday) are pretty nifty, and got a good long skim from me. And many of the d20 things (especially TheLe stuff) are going to be examined and possibly re-worked into my Eberron game.
So much stuff I haven't even had a chance to look at, yet, including wotbs #1 (which I was surprised to see!).
Honestly, though, in the past week, I've downloaded something like ten new (for me) RPG systems, and I kind of want to start running some one-shots to introduce people to some of the non d20 stuff out there. And I now, more than ever, want to design my own system.
This Giveaway is gonna kill me. I've been DLing everything that wasn't music or clip-art.
Some Stuff I'm looking forward to pick up on wednesday and beyond:
Wednesday:
Monkey, Ninja, Robot: The RPG: How could you not want something with a name like that!?
Future Nexus Corebook Because spaceships are fun.
Heavy Gear Blitz! Rulebook mechs are fun, but I'm just loving getting free RPGs.
Broadsides! I have some airships in my Eberron game. This might be useful.
I already have the revised Tome of Horrors, but I HIGHLY recommend it to EVERYONE. If you can only DL one product, this is it. I use it more than any wotc book.
Thursday:
Gunslingers and Gamblers We've been putting together a western game for a while now, and it's always great to cannibalize rules.
XCrawl Core Rulebook Always wanted to see what this was about.
Conan: The RPG (Pocket Version) Apparently, it's pretty good for a Mongoose product.
Friday:
Honour and Corruption: Simply because it sounds cool.
Stuff to beat up 1: Tech Terrors I use robots in my post-apoc games all the time. Hopefully I can use something from this.
Mundi Animalia Animal World? Sounds neat.
And, of course, the one wotc addition - the 3.0 Book of Challenges, which I picked up for two dollars a year or so ago. (I kind of wish they put up a 2e book or something for grabs, but that doesn't make any sense, of course. I would've thought they would put up UA, since it's all OGL anyways... but this book is a nice addition).
