D&D 4E Who's going to dump WoW for 4E?

At level 70, 20 people can clear Molten Core only half paying attention, since SOMEONE will have been there before, know about Tranquilizing Shot (which you get right before you need it, anyway), etc.

At level 70 you won't even need Tranq. You barely did at 60 when you first got it.

If that's all you're doing, is it then worth the $15 a month to do it?

Well put things into perspective. I'm paying less then a movie with popcorn would cost and I'm getting about 6+ hours of entertainment a week for a month. Seems like a good deal to me. I wish every form of entertainment I spent money on gave me that kind of return.

I'll keep playing both.

In fact, the DDI will make it easier for me to mesh the two, since several of the wonderful people I enjoy RPing with in WoW will find it easier to play a regular D&D campaign with better tools.

If I didn't have an incredibly interesting, fun group of people on the best of the RP servers waiting for me in WoW (the wife and I are on hiatus from WoW while moving and re-settling across the country), I'd probably drop it completely for 4e and just look for DDI games, but I get roleplaying and social interaction in WoW that ranges from almost as good as, to better than, my old (and also great) face-to-face tabletop group.

Dump a MMORPG for tabletop? Why? They are two different games, two different experiences. If a person wants to play an MMORPG, and they want to play tabletop, they play both (and slow everyone else down by talking about WoW instead of contributing to the game, but that's the group's problem, I guess).

If playing an MMORPG is getting boring (and as you say, the game actually starts at the LAST level, which is a stupid design), then I can see why you'd wonder who else plans to quit. I gave up on my latest MMORPG just a couple weeks ago, and don't even have a tabletop group.

You seem to be confusing WoW with EQ1.

If WoW starts at the last level, what the heck is cool stuff doing in the Deadmines, back at the other end of the leveling curve?

I really wish the WoW and 4e crapfest would stop. No that the OPs post was that bad, but really, it's like deciding to play tennis over equestrian - sure they're both sports, but nothing alike at all.

I have just played Diablo II online, and considering how boring it becomes, I have no desire to play WOW, especially if I have to pay for it. Same reason I will not be subscribing to Insider.

But realy they are not all that similar, only really intersecting if you talk about free time and free money

Agreed.

I don't think that there are many people who play WoW just because they can't find D&D players, and the online table will be the end of Blizzard or something. It's two different kinds of games.
