Who's in Charge?

...Not too bad, and I don't want to think about a Critical hit :) [2d8 + 3d6 + 2d12 + 2 + 4 = 38.5]
Ehem.

Einspruch, Euer Ehren. (und willkommen am Board ;))

Extra dice are not multiplied when scoring a critical hit.

I have a 3.x dwarven fighter who went the charge route. Picked up a Rhino Hide armor and Knockdown. When I get to charge, very few targets get to make a full attack after I smashed my warhammer in their face :]

Thanx for your objection. "Extra Dice are not multiplied" [see PHB, p. 140, sidebar] ..., hmm ..., than it makes for a *meager* 28.5 [2d8 + 2d6 +1d12 + 2 + 4] points of damage. At least it's considerable.

"You can't add the bonus from Power Attack to the damage dealt with a light weapon (except with unarmed strikes or natural weapon attacks [...]" PHB, p. 98, Power Attack. OK, thanx for that one.

Aha..., "An unarmed strike is always considered a light weapon." PHB, p. 121, Strike, Unarmed. Thanx for that one, too.

Kind regards

P.S.: A friend of mine used to play a dwarven druid clad in Rhino Hide (3.0, that is!!!) with Brambles cast on his quarterstaff and Oak's Might cast on him. I don't recall the numbers exactly, but there were at least 40+ damage points per Power Attack hit. He was a killer (in fact, he was a killer....) :) We had to remove the Rhino Hide from the game after the dwarven druid met an untimely death.

she deals 1d8 +2d6 +1d12 +1 (from Strength 13 [Power Attack prerquisite]) + 2 points of damage [21.0]. Not too bad,
well, to put it another way, it's not too good.

And you used 3 feats for it.
Not very good bang for the buck in power gaming circles.

Hi!

Hmmm........ 3rd level, 3 feats, minimum stats just for calculating and you tell me "it's not so good"? I eagerly await your proposition regarding a monk with minimum stats and 3 feats of your or another power gamer's design. Let's hear it for the boy :)

Kind regards

It's not so bad since the feats are not restricted by a limited number of uses per day. But, how many charges can you make per combat? Better take Dodge& Mobility as well.
