Frank is Gwar’s fraternal twin brother. They are two of four brothers and two sisters, but they were always closer to each other than to their other siblings.

Frank grew up outside of the town of Zootsburg (on the western edge of the Herman Land inner reach), learning to tend flocks from his father and older brother (along with Gwar). He was always the stronger one, and looked out for his brother who is three minutes younger than he is.

Frank is friendly, helpful, but not overly brave (except to save his brother). He would look for a way to avoid or overcome a conflict rather than fighting. Despite, his recent level of warrior, he still doesn’t know much about armor and weapons and what might work for him. He uses a short bow, because Gwar showed him how.

Frank would have fought in the war against the Black Islands if he had to, but has not had to kill a human being yet.

He has become good friends with Finn and Carlos, but doesn’t trust Josef. Among his goals for life is to be granted some land, so he can settle down raise sons and sheep and goats. He is slightly envious of Gwar’s girl.

* Cross-class skill

Carlos is from the United Kingdom of Superior Families, a isolationist nation north of Thricia, ruled by the exiled nobles of the Kingdom of Neergaard. The son of miners from one of the many small mining towns in the western portion of the Open Precinct (near the treacherous Province of Branaum).

Carlos has a strong sense of right and wrong and values his personal freedom greatly, but would never let down his friends, especially Finn Fisher, whom he is closest too. Carlos has slowly been learning the Common tongue, but slips back into Indigo often. Definitely, the best fighter in the group, he spends a lot of time training with the others to help improve their skills.

Carlos good looks and exotic look has drawn the attention of a lot of the local girls in Summit, and the ire of more than one set of parents or would-be boyfriends. He is also a natural poet, who’s make up for the language barrier with off-the cuff eloquence that transcends the meanings of words, or at least the women he talks to feel this way.

Carlos is hoping to get a chain shirt soon from Maxel, as soon as he can afford it.

Gwar is Frank’s fraternal twin brother. They are two of four brothers and two sisters, but they were always closer to each other than to their other siblings.

Gwar has darker hair, and slightly darker skin than his taller and broader brother. He is lithe, and tall, and quite handsome. Gwar is friendly and curious, but a bit superstitious and his curiosity quickly turns to cowardice when faced with obvious danger.

Gwar has enjoyed his stay in Summit, getting along well with the many shepherds and hunters in the area, and meeting a girl he hopes to marry. Like his brother, he has no desire to find the dragon, let alone face it, but hopes that Ratchis, Kazrack and the others will accomplish it soon, so that he can get away from having that hanging over his head.

Josef Barley-Grinder
Human Male – Rogue 2; medium sized humanoid (human); HD: 2d6; hps: 9; Init +2 (+2 Dex); Speed 30 ft; AC 14/12/14 (+2/+0/+2 leather armor, +2/+2/+2 Dex); Attack: +1 (melee), +3 (ranged); Dmg: 1d8 (light crossbow) or 1d6 (short sword)
SV Fort +0, Ref +5, Will +1; AL N - Str 11, Dex 15, Con 11, Int 11, Wis 12, Cha 11

Skills: Appraise +2, Balance +2 (+4), Bluff +2, Climb +3, Disable Device +1, Disguise +2, Escape Artist +4 (+6), Forgery +1, Gather Info +2, Hide +3 (+5) Listen +2 (+4), Move Silently +3 (+5), Open Lock +2 (+4), Pick Pockets +3 (+5), Perform +1 (juggling), Search +2, Spot +3 (+5), Swim +2

Feats: Dodge, Mobility

Equipment: leather armor, short sword, dagger, light crossbow, 20 bolts, backpack, 5 days rations, thieves’ tools, 25’ rope, several candles, flint & steel, 1 vial red god fire.

Josef is originally from Teamsburg, the port city fire-bombed by the Black Island Navy, thus starting the civil war which so many fled from to come to Gothanius. Josef witnessed a lot of carnage, and many people he knew died that night – but the next morning he felt greatly relieved. It was his chance to escape his life as a petty thief and street-rat.

Josef made his way to Swampstop (hoping to get to Westron and then Thricia) when he signed up with a recruiter for the Crown of Gothnaius rather than being rounded up by the infamously corrupt town guard of Swampstop and sent off to war.

Josef is the quiet and weaselly one. He is not a bad person, but he looks out for himself first, and his “friends” second. This does not mean he’d abandon someone to their death, but he’d have to weigh the consequences before taking any altruistic action. Josef was asked to join the group by Finn who thought his “sneaky” skills might be useful in avoiding capture if he and the others decided to flee Gothanius. He is definitely the outsider of the group.

I haven't read the story hour myself yet (but i'll be sure to do so soon :)), but the drawings look awesome. I'm sure they'll be of help to imagine the characters to those who read the storyhour.
