First Post
I seem to see a lot of posts and posters spitting venom upon venom about nearly everything WoTC does or publishes.
people complain about:
the prices- heck, i pay more for a well prepared steak than most of the books i buy!
the rules- this is, despite what most seem to want to admit, pretty good rules for nearly everything you can do in life itself in under 500 pgs(3 core books).... that is AMAZING!
the decisions- these folks aren't gamers with nothing better to do, they are business people who have stockholders to answer to.
it just seems that there is never a "Whew! Aren't we lucky someone makes all this this cheap and this well!" mentality in hardly any posts....what is that?
people complaining about $20 bucks for a splat book that will last for years should really take the time to question that next 2 liter of their favorite soda that won't last thru 1 gaming session, or the $3 for a mini that is only used in every 22nd session.
i am not saying that WoTC is perfect, but considering what other companies i do business with provide($75 bucks a tire, and i need new ones in 12 months) and how much fun i have with their products (woo-hoo! shoes!) all we get from these folks seems very reasonable.
am i the only one who feels this way? or are there others who are also on this tack and are just staying silent about it?
realize, i can understand a certain level of frustration, but i feel like i NEVER see anything positive posted about WoTC. heck the only things in my whole hobby arsenal with more value per dollar are my dice.
no offense to any of you who have complained, like i say, i understand, but could we just once in a while stop and be incredibly thankful that someone does all this so we didn't have to spend 4 years in math classes doing probability charts and playtesting just to figure out the basics of combat ourselves?
