Why are these minis so hard to get off of eBay?

If you want lots of commons (e.g. stormtroopers), there is an Ebay site that sells bags of commons. I'll try to find the site and send it to anyone that wants, or post it here.

A good list of on-line retailers can be found stickied on the maxminis marketplace thread. If you have any questions about dealers, post it there, someone will have bought from them and reply.

Sez you. I sent them half a dozen e-mails asking whether they shipped to my country and what the costs of shipping were, and never got a single reply. Whereas I got several great deals on eBay, shipping price included.

Sammy,

I cannot speak for international people. I only can speak for US. I know there are other sites that might do better, internationally, but IconUSA, I've had no problem with. (I did have to call them at work since they are only open until 4pm EST - 5 GMT, but that's okay with an East Coaster like me.)

I just know my experience with ANY ebay stuff, minis included have been less than stellar.

Felon,

Like I said, it's your call. I just think IconUSA does right by me.

I know the guy that's running our game said that mini prices shot through the roof, once it was known what minis were 'needed' for AoW.

I'll note Paizo has a specific section for miniatures for the Age of Worms. Included are singles of the D&D miniatures. I haven't checked to see if they have other singles.

I've bought a few packs of the different mini's, but just hate spending money on the shipping for a couple singles. (Like a couple of the gnomes.)

I did get a Beholder in a box recently, so that's fun.

I usually give the extra's that I don't want to my nephew. :-)

That's why I tend to bid on auctions by people who have eBay stores with stuff I want. If I win the auction(s) I can pick up a few items from their "Buy It Now" stores and combine shipping. Of course, as often as not, I'm still paying more than actual shipping (one company sent me about a dozen miniatures for $6.00 S&H, when the actual shipping was $1.50 - even allowing for other costs that's a bit much).

Fussing with shipping for a few minis, or having to pick around to combine shipping by ordering minis I'm not too enthused about on top of the ones I really wanted, and such is one reason I'm looking forward to Gen Con, all the various dealers who trade in minis, and among the many things to do there I can walk around, figure out who's got the best deals on what I need, and pick them up on the spot.

A lot of other stuff to do there too, but with Gen Con only two months away, I figure it's not worth it hunting around on eBay for Star Wars minis for the campaign I'm organizing.

....find that by the time you've done all that meticulous footwork, all the minis that were good deals got gobbled up by aggressive impulse-buyers within 90 minutes of the dealer's room opening, leaving you empty-handed save perhaps for a few ochre jellies?

Probably. Happens to me at DragonCon all the time. Camp that room out.
