Perhaps it was the year before (02?) but at least one year, the only catagory they could enter (and did) was something like Art. Everything else was "Best D20 Game" or somesuch...Cthulhu's Librarian said:Not true, they could have entered, but chose not to respond to us when we contacted them two years ago.

Vocenoctum said:I didn't vote, nor participate in previous years voting because the ENnies are unimportant to me. . . . the results are meaningless for the most part in ENWorld, and even more meaningless outside of ENWorld. Winners or nominee's presence make no difference to my buying habits. . . . So, I don't really see the ENnies as a "fan award", because of the limited sampling. . .
These people said it better than I could (though I think I would have been ... er... kinder when saying it. heh.) Though I'm on vacation this week and my look deeper into it as Crothian seems like a likable fellow and he's asking nicely.Christoph the Magus said:I don't hate them or anything-they just don't mean anything to me. I've never bought a game product because it was "award" winning and I doubt that I ever will.
I'm sorry, but comments like these will not in any way encourage people to take an interest in the ENnies and will, in all probability, drive them even further away.Dextra said:If you tell me that you didn't vote, then expect me to care about anything you have to say about the ENnies in the future, you're sadly mistaken.
The question was, "Why aren't you voting?" That question was answered.Dextra said:The apathetic attitude that you (and a few others- I'm not really trying to target you in particular) expressed that really gets my goat though.
But it's not one minute. First, to make an informed vote that would actually reflect the opinions of the person voting, one needs to research what one is voting about. If a person only spends one minute doing that, the vote means nothing and would be better off not being cast.Please. Participate. Six clicks, one minute.
Oi. Now I see where the faceless entity bit is very important.Cthulhu's Librarian said:I just want to quote this for emphasis, as I was verbally abused by an author because his book wasn't nominated. I was told point blank (with a lot of finger pointing in my face) that his book was the most important RPG book written in several years, and we were idiots not to nominate it. I don't want to have to walk around at GenCon and watch my email justifying my (and the other judges) votes.
Conaill said:A few questions for those people regularly doing reviews: Have you experienced this sort of behavior from publishers as well? Do you think it is a worse problem for the Ennies than for reviews? Should we move to anonymous reviews, to shield the reviewers from harassment?
Which gets back to a suggestion I made way back: at least link the names in the poll to their "campaign speech" post in the nominations thread. That would probably give a big boost to the lesser-known candidates, and may encourage more people to vote.Doc_Klueless said:But it's not one minute. There, fixed that for you.Crothian said:We all lead to the same place but some people need a good kick in the pants to get there.![]()
