Why aren't you voting?

I'm the same way, but with your responses.
I noticed! Thanks anyways, though.
If you don't care about the ENnies, why should the people involved care about your questions?
They have absolutely no obligation to. I just made a couple of observations on how one might possibly give more information about the Ennie judges - which might increase voter turnout, reduce a level of apathy, reduce any possible views of "cliqueishness" (watch me as I expand the English language!), and increase transparency.

Current nominee(s) and the "powers that be" can fight that at will, for whatever reasons they deem are appropriate.

Not fighitng that actually, just not every suggestion can be implimented. MAny changes though have come from suggestions over the past 4 years.

Really, the reason I'm not voting is that my tastes seem to be very esoteric around here and most others don't share my views. The one person up there that would get my vote (Crothian) is already a shoo-in. Now if Rel, Sep, Old One, Wulf, or Heap were running, I'd have to vote to give them my support.

Hey, you asked.

I did ask, and I thank you for the honest answer. If I may pry, what tastes of yours do you feel are esoteric around here?

There are a lot of things about D&D in general that I cannot stand and would throw to the curb if I had control. I really favor OGL content over D&D in general (especially Grim Tales, Black Company, and Thieves' World). As most do not share my sentiments regarding these they really don't represent my opinion well. Not that it isn't perfectly fine for them to have the opinions they do!

The ENnies though are way more then just d20, its all of role playing games. But each of those games you list is going to be a sub sect of the d20 population so it does make sense to me at least that there would be less people.

Ironically enough, at least two of those games (Black Company and Thieves World) aren't pure OGL but are rather d20 books in and of themselves. Heck, I could be wrong, but I think Grim Tales is d20 too as opposed to OGL.

Conan? That's OGL. Arcana Evolved. That's OGL. Games in and of themselves (even though AE is pretty straigth D&D compatible.)

Seriously? WotC has chosen not to enter the ENies for the past few years.

I only buy a handful of non-WotC products a year; if WotC's stuff isn't in the running, then I don't think I've got enough information to vote fairly (no matter how the voting works). If I don't know enough to vote fairly, then I don't vote. And if I'm not voting for the ENies, then I don't think I should vote for judges.

Perhaps I should have said OGL/d20. Things that are not RAW D&D. :D
