To answer the original question on metaltic dragons, it's because brass and bronze were considered valuable metals like gold, silver, and copper, used more for decoration than utility.

To answer the original question on metaltic dragons, it's because brass and bronze were considered valuable metals like gold, silver, and copper, used more for decoration than utility.
I assumed the metals were being selected had to do with old alchemy, not mere decoration.
