D&D General why did they transform the Barbarian into a Raging Monster ?

I don't remember where I'd read it but something along the lines that, to Romans, all the foreign languages just sounded like they were saying 'bar bar bar barbarbar bar' - which always makes me imagine Muppets.
That's apocryphal. The term is originally Greek: barbaroi. It basically meant anyone not a Greek. It's a word that roughly translates to "non-citizen". Source: my Greek classical studies class in university.

Been skipping through my A5E and it seems that they feel the same way about Barbarians and have renamed said class as a Berserker. As well as Adept (Monk), Herald (Paladin / Holy Warriors), and Marshall.
