A few notes from some development I was doing for some Living Greyhawk scenarios.
- Most of them don’t, of course, as witnessed by how many of them have intermarried.
- Their wars with another racial group have increased their prejudicial nature
- Unlike elves, flan and Oeridian humans, dwarves and the like, who were created from male/female pairs directly shaped by their gods, the suel were created by Lendor, who decided that immediate creation was too hasty and unwise of a method of securing worshippers.
- Therefore Lendor took hold of simians and pushed them along a path of evolution leading them to develop their genes in response to environmental and other pressures. He felt this would make them stronger and more adaptable than
- Maybe it works better if flan and oeridians are also of the same ancestral stock as the Suel, but that they separated at a much earlier point, as Pelor/Beory and Istus were intrigued by the potentialities of Lendor’s work. (it seems that the Oeridians, lacking greater gods, may all have their god’s origins in ascension)
- Anyhow, Suel racial purity actually serves a purpose, in that the Suel somatype is actually more malleable and changeable than any other racial stock. Dopplegangers and Skulks, are testimony to the unlimited forms of the Suel genotype latent in the pure form.
- Suel have found that simians present an excellent stock for breeding thralls. Examples include su-monkeys, losels and kurgs.
