I voted story-teller, but that's not why.

I like getting together with people and creating an atmosphere...letting people play characters with alt-histories. Strategizing both game mechanics and combat situations. Sharing a laugh with people whom I have a similiar interest anything geek.

It's really an excuse for me to induldge in something pure fun with other people. I read, I work, I volunteer, I drink, I see my SO & family, I play video games. I exercise (but not team sports.) D&D is the one thing I do consistently that is fun and done with other people...a group of people.

The reasons listed are some but not all of the reasons why I have fun when I game. I game to intereact with people socially...to have fun.

Well, I suppose I am pretty much a mix of Method Actor and Storyteller, though when playing D&D I add in liberal doses of Buttkicker since it's fun in D&D! :)

But the real reason I game is to make the strange dreams go away! Seriously, I find that if I don't game for a week or so my dreams become a whole lot more vivid (not bad dreams mind, just strong dreams). So, as long as I role-play, I sleep better! :heh:

I game because it's fun and I enjoy being with my friends.

When I DM, I find gaming to be art. I've heard other artists describe how they feel when they work on a project, and I can say that when I'm planning encounters or adventures, or dreaming up characters, or when I'm revealing a new bit of prophecy to the characters, or when my players are actually frightened of what's around the next corner that I'm lost in my work. I sometimes am transported to another place and have the satisfaction of creativity that I don't get through other projects in my life.

Gaming provides an artistic release and an emotional recharging that I need as an alternative to the everyday concerns of normal life.

I chose butt-kicker and tactition. All of those entries listed apply to me somewhat, but I love D&D for allowing me to vent agression in a way that doesn't hurt anyone or make me socially unacceptable. Well, no more socially unacceptable than being a grown man playing a make believe game already makes me. :D

I hate to select Casual Gamer, it sounds like I am not committed to the game enough.... But I do like hanging out with that bunch of weirdoes

Method Actor and Storyteller, I like the rollplaying more often than not,

But Combat defiantly has its place, so Minor in Buttkicker
