Why does the warlock have Jump on his skill list?

If they don't have intimidate now, it would be an obvious choice.

Yes - I have of course made the risky move of posting without a copy of Complete Arcane to hand, so it might well be on the list already. I'm going to hedge my bets and point out that the next thing beneath Jump is Knowledge...

They do already have Intimidate on their skill list, as well as Bluff and Sense Motive. In fact, the only social skill they're lacking is Diplomacy.

One could make quite the social butterfly warlock, though of course you'd need to be able to spare a high stat for intelligence to get enough skill points.

I did that. Beguiling Influance, max skill ranks, high charisma, and a circlet of persuasion. His Bluff and Intimidate were sky high and he had a +15 Dip check even without skill ranks. Made quite the party face.

I'm not sure I'd want to play a Warlock again, but what they do they do very well.

Is it possible that it's in there for the same reason Favoured Soul has Knowledge: Arcana instead of Religion - an error one notch up or down the skill list? Perhaps "Jump" was supposed to be Intimidate.
Error? That was important fluff. You are your Deity's favored soul. That tense, like a typical god, is possessive. Your Deity has little desire for you to know about other gods. She will unlock the mysteries of how magic works for you. Your god will let you understand the weirder stuff in your world, but would prefer if you just listen to His version of how the next world works. Knowledge:Religion is the real story, that story may have some chapters your god might prefer to leave out of Its holy texts.

Speaking of weird skill choices, I liked how Dragon Shamans do not get Knowledge (arcana), and thus know nothing about dragons. (Probably easiest to houserule that they can use knowledge nature on dragons.)

I always thought that K: Religion was the story the religions and churches told, but K: Arcana and K:The Planes was the real story.

I don't see how that can be applied to every single deity.

I prefer the following explanation: Given that divine power comes naturally to a Favored Soul they have no need for the teachings of a church or knowledge of religion in general and are more concerned with harnessing divine energies than spreading the word of the church. If they do become interested in religious doctrine they can always buy cross-class skills or take a level in a class or a feat which allows them to have Kno(Religion) as a class skill.

I think FS has jump as a skill as well

he can leap about in the name of his god but cant explain why as he has no K: rel

it also means its tricky to get to mystic theurge as a warmage/FS as neither has K: rel as a class skill

It reminds me of a weird movie trailor I saw as a kid, about Basques. Apparently, someone decided they needed a gimmick, so for the purposes of the movie, Basques were amazing jumpers who leaped twenty feet through the air and landed on people, making them invincible against rifles.
