Level Up (A5E) Why isn't A5E on Demiplane? Or Alchemy?

It seems like a no-brainer. EN Publishing, you're literally leaving money on the table here. Missing potential markets. If I can think of this, you surely can. What's the deal?

And also, the sooner you put it on D&D Beyond the better. Kobold Press and Ghostfire have put there stuff there. D&D Beyond has 18 million subscribers. You need to be on there.

Answering this on my own, not for EN Publishing or anything, I only freelance for 'em and do not represent them in any way:

1) Roll20, where Level Up has material and EN Publishing in general has had a lot of material over the previous years, purchased Demiplane. So EN Publishing's material will almost certainly be on Demiplane at some point.

2) Never heard of Alchemy 'til you mentioned it. Neat. Came out this year. 4,500 backers on the Kickstarter which ended earlier this year. Odds are high that it's just not hit critical mass, yet.

3) D&D Beyond: I don't think you actually understand how D&D Beyond works. Kobold Press has a few books on D&D Beyond because those books were joint works with WotC and WotC put up their books (Hoard of the Dragon Queen, Rise of Tiamat, Tyranny of Dragons) for their playerbase.

D&D Beyond doesn't exist for 3rd Party Publishers. It exists for WotC and their products. And after everything WotC has done in the past 20 years... I don't think you'll see any EN Publishing material on WotC's site any time soon.

So the answer is this: you can't just "put" your content on those platforms. It's not like DriveThruRPG where if you have a PDF you can just upload it. The process is roughly this:

1) You contact the platform to enquire if they would be interested in including your content.
2) They respond (favourably) and you negotiate a deal.
3) They code your content and add it to their platform.

We have reached out to every platform in your list multiple times, and 30 more besides. We haven't gotten past stage (1) with any of them (maybe a couple went to stage 2 and then ghosted us).

Of course want to be on every platform on the planet, and every shop in the world. If it was my choice, we'd be at the checkout counter at your local grocery store.

In the meantime, we do the best we can outside the system, we're making our own platform, and it's gonna kick ass. :)

Wait, what?

I was just responding to Steampunkette, who said “Kobold Press has a few books on D&D Beyond because those books were joint works with WotC and WotC put up their books (Hoard of the Dragon Queen, Rise of Tiamat, Tyranny of Dragons) for their playerbase

I was in no way trying to brag or anything like that!!

Sure, but you're literally in the Level Up subforum. It's not like Morrus is all over the Kobold Press forums (or wherever) promoting his products (hey Morrus why aren't you?) You're direct competitors who sell almost the exact same product. And he'd just said how none of those platforms would take his calls. It really came across as a diss. Maybe read the room first?

My apologies!

Honestly I don’t always look at what sub forum something is in - I tend to just click on subjects that interest me.

Like I said, I was literally just commenting on Steampunkette’s statement. I wasn’t promoting or anything like that.

Honestly sorry if you took it any other way, seriously!
