Thinking about it, I actually remember paying between $50-$60 for some NES games back when I was a kid. Adjusting for inflation, the games of today would actually be cheaper by comparison.

True. Games have not gotten more expensive, and $60 is hardly a high-end expense in this day and age. Compare it to buying a DVD, a meal at a restaurant, going to the movies, and other entertainment expenses.

At any rate, it's likely the OP was referring to the record-busting profits of GTA V, not the perfectly average price-tag.
