God I hate this joker's laugh..... Its like they literally had "He ha ha" written in the script.
See, I like that. Same with the voice being somewhat...off.

For me at least, it adds to the quality of the Joker just being absolutely insane. Its pretty damn creepy, too.

I find it scarier than any other Joker laugh I heard (granted, I hear very little of Hamill's Joker because it's dubbed here).

I'm completely sold. After viewing the prologue and the new trailer, I think my anticipation for TDK has gone up about 1000% percent.

I, on the other hand, am completely...worried. I'll go see the movie out of curiosity, and with the hopes that it'll be good, but this Joker really doesn't do it for me. At all.

Of course, neither did Jack Nicholson. At all. The Joker's a hard guy to portray, I'll definitely give that to the actors who make the attempt.

I will agree with you on one thing...Jack Nicholson didn't do it for me either. As pleasantly surprised as I was with Michael Keaton's portrayal of Batman, I was equally disappointed with Nicholson's Joker. I think Frank Miller's take on the Joker in The Dark Knight Returns was the best to date.

I find it interesting that they decided to avoid at least a thoroughly white Joker. He could have a rare skin condition or be an albino or something to at least give him sickly, pale skin... He could have added the rest of the make-up manually.

That said, I LOVE the trailer and what appears to be a very good portrayal of The Joker. He seems a little evil and a little insane, which bridges the gap between the better interpretations of the character.

Did anyone notice that what appears to be the Batcave looks very sterile and... white...?

That's because it's not the Batcave, its a basement at Waynetech. TDK is set right after Batman Begins and Wayne Manor is still being rebuilt, which is why Wayne is currently living in a penthouse in the middle of Gotham. This is a nice touch as it harkens back to the pre-crisis era when he did live in such a place at the top of the Wayne Foundation building, and had a batcave/basement under it. I expect he'll be back in the manor (with a fully fitted out cave this time) for the 3rd film.

I've been basically behind this since the beginning. Not because I have faith in Heath Ledger, but because I love Christopher Nolan. He hasn't done a movie I haven't liked, and almost all of them are worth repeat viewings. The guy's earned my trust.

This is not going to be Jack Nicholson's joker. It's not going to be Mark Hamill's. He's going to be a whole new animal, and I'm excited to see how he turns out.

I vastly prefer Alan Moore's version in The Killing Joke.

And I didn't like Keaton at all.
