Why the resistance to the new(er) edition?

Come now, lets be reasonable. All your 3e books are not obsolete. Most 3e products are still usaeable. They may have to be tweaked some, but they certainly aren't obsolete.

I for one have few real problems with R3E (obviously, the term 3.5 is one ) and some things make me a bit leery, but on the whole, I believe R3E to be an improvement. And since it is largely backwards-compatible, none of the older books become obsolete (though there might be smaller or bigger conversion hassles in some cases).
