She's so sweet. It's just what I wanted. My next campaign is going to have some truly DARK elements now! Of course, she gets to play in it (an evil necromancer. Is this a perfect woman or what?) so she gets to benefit from the gift as well.

(and no, I didn't open my presents early. We opened them right on time - for Solstice)

Nipple clamps of exquisite pain

The wearer of this ring [sic] is immune to debilitating pain effects such as the circle of nausea spell. He is also immune to the wrack spell. He is not immune to actual damage described as pain, such as that found in eyes of the zombie, however. The clamp converts all pain into a pleasurable sensation. This item does not change how or whether the character takes damage, but it does change how he might react to it.

Caster Level: 5th; Prereqs: Craft Wondrous Item, masochism; Market Price: 8000 gp.

Can't wait until I have to pass it round the inlaws in the present inspection tradition that occurs every year :D

You should put bookmarks in some of the pages with some of the more disturbing pictures on them. If they just flip through at random it is possible, however unlikely, that they miss the cool bits and think it is an ordinary book. ;)

The BoVD

When KenzerCo did their Orcs book, they put a number of things in there regarding the horrible practices they humanoids commited. What happens when a town is destroyed, torture, slavery, etc etc etc. They even expanded upon the notion of female subjugation that is listed in WotC's monster manual.

They sent it off to WotC for approval (as is required by their license agreement) and all those portions were removed. They were told that such content was inappropriate for D&D as it was a game that should be available to both children and adults. And, since they wanted to encourage gaming among females, that segment was removed as well.

A few months later they released the BoVD. Needless to say I can't look at that book now without feeling disgusted. Although I own most of WotC's products, that one will not ever sit on my gaming shelf.

Bovines of vicious dairy?

or

Book of venereal diseases?

never can remember what bovd stands for...:D

It seems as though a lot of wives are giving their gamer husbands the Book of Vile Darkness for X-mas. Am I missing something? Is there something in that book that is good for marriages?

I've had my copy for a while. Thanks Monte!
