Wildshape (Easy Question)

This should be a straight forward question...but it may not be. Let's hope it is.

Wildshape is a supernatural ability and in the desc. it says: "Changing form (to animal or back) is a standard action and doesn’t provoke an attack of opportunity." Ok, that's clear...so my question is:

If you have multiple wildshapes/day, do you have to switch back to human (or whatever your base is) before you can wildshape into a different creature?

Thanks!

I don't know of anything explicit in the rules for either side. I'd be inclined to take this as a yes -- there's nothing that says, "You can change only while in human form.".

A) (not your question, but I'll say it) I've never treated wildshaping back to human as counting as one of the wildshapes.
B) I've ruled that the druid may shift from one animal form to another without becoming a human in-between, as one of his normal wild-shape uses that day.

There are no straight forward polymorph/wildshape questions. ;)

The SRD is down at the moment and I'm not 100% sure what it says, but this is an area where I'd look for playability before I looked to the books. If you force someone to take 2 rounds to adopt a new form, they end up sitting around for 3 rds between doing anything fun. That sounds like a bad idea to me.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with you, JGSugden. The SRD doesn't clarify (no surprise there). The reason I asked was IF you say that HPs change with the con change during Wildshape (i know this is contested) then it might be important to know if you have to switch back to base before activating another wildshape if you were low in hitpoints...and might go uncon. or die from the con loss.
