Will genasi be in the FR handbook?

Spellplague: The Wailing Years

As listed above, WotC released the latest article about the changes to Faerun. The Genasi are mentioned a lot through out the article and time line. This has me wondering if they will be a race featured along with the Drow in the new FR campaign book.

Any thoughts about this or any other info presented in the article?

Its a lot of information to digest, but based on my reading, if genasi are not in the MM, they will definitely be in the FRCS.

Just a bit I gathered from it besides all the references to the genasi.

Its recommend that if you want to run a campaign through the spellplague era to run low magic ones, at least during the first 10 years.

Demigods are now called Exarchs

A religion check of 30 reveals the truth about The Order of Blue Fire

Free floating bits of land called motes can be found. "Motes are often referred to according to the type of landscape each sports. Thus, there are junglemotes, fungusmotes, cavemotes, grassmotes, pinemotes, and so on. Larger motes may support animal life, including humanoids."

Wow. There is a ton of information in there. I like almost all of it, except for the fact I have a map of the FR that is the size of my living room floor I'll need to figure out how to modify.

Yes, I have that map as well. I hope they redo it for the new one if not at least put out another complete poster size one like they released in Dragon that one year. Would like to see a wall map for Eberron as well.

Damn. . . . I just lost my optimism about FR. It definitely is an interesting read but it just felt nothing like the realms to me:(

I guess it is drow and genasi for the FR book. Wonder how genasi are treated now with the elemental chaos? Maybe they are one race with different traits according to element.

I have all the 2.0 FR thingys that describe different parts of the world. Each came with 2 maps that were large. I had some rolls of paper. I got all of those maps onto 3 very large pieces of paper. Indeed, it is even larger, as I made the sea of fallen stars bigger to accomodate putting Rifts Atlantis between the red wizards and the egyptian lands (I'm not thinking clearly - must be the tequila). The 3 pieces are probably 10-12 feet by 6-8 feet, or larger. It is done in colored pencil, which is really hard to erase...

Legacy of the Batrachi = Temple of the Frog. ;)

I like the sidebars, especially. Exarchs remind me of the proxies of Planescape, but in a more useful form.

Exarchs are a great concept. Actually 2E demigods were pretty much exarchs; they were bound to the Material. I would not mind at all if many of the FR gods became exarchs, especially since the pantheon is built in groupings that accomodate that greatly.
