Oh, whom are you kidding - you'll buy the new edition anyway. Admit it. :p

I know I will...

I agree. Almost all these folks claiming the won't switch will end up switching.

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt...

Rest assured that we'll be discussing what to do. However, these forums have always welcomed polite discussion of all games - don't look for that to change. Whether we deem it necessary to create separate forums for 4E, or if we reorganize in some other way, or leave things as they are, we'll do whatever make sense to keep the talk flowing.

FWIW, I've done the majority of my ENing as a non-3x'er (I play mostly Savage Worlds and C&C, and occasionally D&D Minis), and while I don't delve into the 3x rules forums, I hang out in the General forum, and haven't had any issues or felt terribly isolated. I like reading what people are doing with other games and versions, and often find valuable ideas to integrate into my own games. (Heck, yesterday I bought the Book of the Righteous PDF based off recommendations I read here.)

So Geron, I think you'll be fine.

You could knock me over with a proverbial feather. Welcome back, man.

(contact) was telling me that 4e coming out is going to bring him back to the ENWorld boards more often too. I imagine it will be happening with quite a few folks.

That said, why not open things up...have a 3e rules forum, a 4e rules forum, a 0-1-2e rules forum...hell, it's already happening in Reviews with all the classics going up in there...make this *the* D+D site (even more than it is already) rather than just *the* D+D 3e site.

Actually I'm new (obviously), but I'm pretty surprised it's not already organized that way. I love being able to see the link right on the Messageboards page to be able to go to talk about 4e D&D. I think it would be great to see it next to a link for 3e D&D, 2e, and 1e.

But I'm freaky organized. Freaky.

I heard a rumor that when Morrus met with WotC privately on Friday at GenCon, they slid him a little cash to change the forum rules to "no politics, no religion and no 3.5 topics." Of course he promptly pocketed the money, spent it in the exhibitors hall and got so wrapped up in his shiny new purchases that he forgot all about his "agreement." Since then he keeps having these odd dreams about an angry brain in a jar, but figures it is just a reaction to the American food he has been eating.
