Will you bee seing Doom?

I won't see it in the theater. Once it's out on DVD, we'll rent it to make fun of it.

I mean, come on! It's directed by Uwe "I killed House of the Dead" Boll. He's putting first person CGI generated scenes into it. Of course it's going to be bad.

The scoop from Aintitcool news is that several minutes of the movie ARE rendered in first-person, more for fans of the game than anything else. The whole movie will not be in that fashion, however.

The current buzz is: Good special effects and plenty of high-action and good-looking CGI, plot only slightly more involved than the video game, it does take place at a research station on Mars, but the "Gate to Hell" aspect has been written out, and replaced with "genetic mutants gone beserk". There IS a big bad in the end to fight, and we WILL see a BFG9000 and a Chainsaw. :) (In fact, these are very visible in the previews!)

The only thing it has going for it in my eyes is the Rock, and I'm not sure thats enough. Definitly not enough for the theater, waffling on dvd.

I think I am going to split the difference and check it out at the $1.50 theater. Mildly curious but not enough to pay full price for a rental or a ticket to a first run theater. ;)

This movie has the potential to be one of my top ten of all time. Sadly, I don't think I have the budget to go to it, so it'll have to wait for Encore Networks. :(

Actually, it's not. It's directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, who doesn't exactly have a reat filmography (Cradle 2 the Grave, anyone?), but has a pretty extensive(and moderately impressive) cinematographer credit list.
