Will you bee seing Doom?

I've seen the preview twice and both times it has rocked my freakin' head off. The floating gun/reload thing is just too good to pass up.

Plus, The Rock is SMOKIN' HOT! I don't normally get celebrity crushes, but holy buckets! He's SO good looking! *gets all girly and giddy*

*clears throat and smoothes hair*

... Sorry about that. ;)

You mean that zombie movie which happens to be called Doom, even though it doesn't feature demons from Hell at all and the Big :):):):):):):) Gun is called Bio Force Gun?
Yeah, probably, if there's nothing better to see.
Those were rumors that appear to not be true after all. This isn't a zombie, Resident Evil clone after all, although some early reports sure made it sound that way.

Well someone has posted the plot outline for Doom here
This what it is said:
The movie provides a wormhole. And hellspawn. But according to the films continuity (based loosely on all three games), a gene exists that indicates a persons predisposition toward good or evil.
Once infected by whatever is on the other side of that wormhole, humans mutate into demonic representations of the darkness in their souls. Grimm's estranged sister is the stations doctor, and she helps uncover the reason behind the sudden demon apocalypse.

It begins as an Ancient race is discovered on Mars. They find remains of this race and run samples on it. Wile doing research they see it has a few non-human traits. They run tests on that. They call it Lucy. In case you didn't know,
the earliest human remains scientists found on earth were also named Lucy.
This race had 24 chromosones wile we had only 23. The UAC scientists do research on this and study it for a little bit. An order goes out, and the UAC scientists give prison inmates an injection of this missing chromosone. DooM begins.

The Human Genome Project comes into play when the UAC finds out that everyone has either Good, or Evil genes. This is actually based on real science and religious doctrine. Which is more commonly known as "The Original Sin"
These Good or Evil genes are provoked when someone enters a Wormhole "Teleporter"

The research being done at Odluvai "the stations name on Mars" has gone insane. The base is all but lost in the midst of the confusion..
A distress call from the UAC Mars station goes out
All research has ceased. Communication has failed. It's a level 5 quarantine. The only ones allowed to enter are the Marines.

The Union Aerospace Corporation Sent the Marines to the Station with the objective to seal Off the portal to Earth, so this wont spread any further. The UAC's only real concern was geting the Data Disks that contained all the information found out during the events. The Sarge was set on retrieving the Data. Even if it means killing anyone innocent...

I'm not sure if this true or not, but if is it then maybe we have something here. I am not sure if this has been posted here already if so then sorry.

According to the trailer I've seen:

The monsters are genetic thingies. Not hellspawn.

The guns talk. Including saying "Reload."

A squad of marines are sent in from off world. Not a lone (or even few) marines caught up in the "All Hell Breaks Loose", fighting to survive and escape.

I think the game premise is great, and could make for a good movie. But the trailer is telling me the movie has only a bare recognition of the game plot.

I've played the recent game (DOOM 3), and it has many very cinematic components -- the "summoning circle" right before a creature gates in. The growing "tentacle" things throughout the base. Etc. But the movie seems to want to just ride on the brand name.

I'm disappointed. I will not be seeing this movie.

Doom 3 was the first game since Doom 1 that actually made me jump and freaked me out at times. I saw another trailer last night and I'm thinking I'm going to go see this.

That's too bad. Based on what I've seen, your opinions are somewhat misinformed; the plot for the movie seems to follow the games' plot much more closely than was previously rumored.

This looks so Freakin' BAD. I've gotta see it. The trailer got massive laughs when it was show to the Serenity crowd. Especially the FPS scenes. And the chainsaw.

My vote is for: Real Darn Bad, and Real Darn Entertaining.
