Sorry, that's my answer for now. I really don't know enough about the books to say whether or not I'll buy them.

I'd just like to point out that, despite the recent grist here about these books, Races and Classes holds the #11 spot in the RPG category on Amazon.

Seems like plenty of people don't mind spending $13.57 for it.

Maybe. I'll flip through 'em, if there is enough "coffee table"-shiny in it (i.e. good paper, BIG artwork), I'll get it. If it looks like a giant ad... I'll pass.

IIRC, this will be the first new "Dungeons and Dragons" product in 17 years that I don't purchase.

Given that it appears we don't know exactly what's going to be in them: maybe. If they are chock-full of new 4E art and have extensive designer essays on the creation of 4E, then I might well be picking one up.
