Winner Announced! (EN) World's Toughest NPC Writing Contest [The Hamlet of Thumble]

Are you limiting to the SRD or any OGC?

Do you have to continue the build from the lower level ones you gave above or can you modify to better fit the concept with different feat, skill, or class selections?

When is the deadline for the contest?

I went ahead and altered my entry to reflect a com3/exp3. To be honest, I would have probably stated him like that to begin with but I was trying to stick as close as possible to the stated desire of the judge. :)

did you give Neddy a stat increase for lvl 4? i added it to cha. and i think 143lbs is awfully heavy even for a halfling. ;)

You can modify, submit multiple versions, scale the stats, anything your precious heart desires.

The deadline is noon, Monday, October 20, 2003. I will try to check the thread and announce a winner that day in the afternoon or early evening. The prize should be shipped as soon as I get that person's mailing information.

I went with the stats provided, as it did not seem to really matter much and assumed they already had the increase added.

I was guessing on 50 lbs overweight as being pudgy for a halfling. :)

Oh, yeah, I forgot: SRD only.

The winning entry may appear in "World of Whitethorn 1B: The City of Calas" to be released sometime next year.

There may be some significant editing and modifications, however, from the winning entry.

Sorry about that! :) I should have stated that the flexibility level. Since I gave so many details, I guess you took that as a hint to how close the entry should match the information provided. That was a good guess, but sometimes when you're writing/designing NPCs these changes come up, especially in terms of "Geez, this character needs some more Gather Information skill!"

The heaviest male halfling in Thumble is 135 lbs. An average male halfling adult is about 80-85 lbs. I don't think Neddy is seriously above-average weight, but rather just a bit plump. Though he's slightly out of shape since he's gotten older, Neddy should still be agile when he has to. You should just take the original Dexterity score for a halfling like him at his prime and then adjust with the age factoring in the PHB chart.

Of course, you can make him any size you want. Heck make him a Jabba the Hut if you think that would be cool. :P

I cut him down to 100 lbs. and am now satisfied. My entry shall remain fixed from this point on. As fixed as the northern star.

Unless of course I change my mind about something else. :D
