Winning Races: Halfling - Nice

There's nothing preventing you from buying multiple dice though....totally legal, and totally against the spirit of the rules IMO. Really getting close to the "bag of rats" rule

What.

"Bag of rats" was a cute way of twisting badly worded in game things to create hilarious and unintended results.

This is just buying a magic item more then once.

Buying something more then once is not against the spirit of anything. It's simply spending your money on something again.

Still not seeing a problem here, by the time you get to epic things are going crazy anyway. If it becomes a problem, I'll houserule that only one set will be effective for a character on any one day.

The "Clan Guardian Beast" Feat confuses me a bit ... why can't you use your second chance power in Beast form without this feat?

Normally, I would agree.

However, in this case, buying multiple dice is definitely against the spirit of the rule. The dice in question EXPLICITLY mentions you can't "store" multiple rolls. Quite obviously, the designer didn't intend for a PC to have multiple uses of the dice at one time.

But like many other "broken" items, the designer left out the words, "You can only have 1 dice at a time".

Ways to balance the dice.

While under the effects of the dice, a PC can't use action points for the day until the next extended rest.

Cut down how many rolls can be stored

Quite obviously

"Quite obviously" means, nine times out of ten, "according to me."

When a developer says "You aren't supposed to buy more then one dice, hah hah, we forgot how you have actual money in this game and can buy things," then I'll believe it.

Until then, you're making assumptions and claiming them as law.

So how would you interpret the line afterwards that states the PC can not benefit from multiple rolls of the same dice if not an intentional design limitation?

It's an intentional design limitation.

THAT DOES NOT LIMIT anything other than the one thing which it clearly says it limits.

So why have that line/limitation if it can be circumvented, rather EASILY I might add, by simply getting another set of dice?

Maybe I'm making leaps in logic but the designer didn't want people storing rolls which is why the dice refreshes whenever it is rolled, but you're arguing that the designer did want the dice to be (ab)used in such a fashion by simply purchasing multiple sets?

I came to this thread to post the exact same thing.

Though the feat's still not too bad even without that little mistake.

Well, you can't normally use attack, utility, or feat powers while wild shaped. But second chance is a racial power, so it seems to fall outside that stricture. I think this might be a mistake.
