D&D 5E Winter Fantasy XXXVIII announces Living Greyhawk

Baldman Games just wrote on its Facebook that there will be a Living Greyhawk Special Weekend at Winter Fantasy this year...

Winter Fantasy XXXVIII announces Living Greyhawk Special Weekend!!!

1/05/2014: Before we usher in the new lets have some fun with the old. Living Greyhawk was where a lot of us got our start and had our first taste of what a shared world Living Campaign could truly be on an epic scale. Dust off those old characters and memories and lets have one last bash in Greyhawk. Castle Greyhawk and Isle of Woe will be playing all throughout the weekend with some of our judges having actually ran them the first time around ten years ago. Come join the fun and relive the memories.

D&D Next - Living Greyhawk: Isle of Woe - The Green Devils Tower: Lost for untold ages, the Isles of Woe have resurfaced deep within the waters of the Nyr Dyv. The legends say little about the mythical Isles, but one thing is certain. The Isles were a place of powerful magic and even more powerful enemies. What caused their mysterious disappearance in the pre history of Oerth and perhaps even more importantly, what has caused them to return? An adventure for 6th level characters. Recreate your Living Greyhawk character at 6th level (using the last edition of the public playtest) or use one of our pre-gens provided onsite.

D&D Next - Living Greyhawk: Castle Greyhawk: For years, the dungeons beneath Castle Greyhawk have been sealed but no longer. Crazed followers of the mad god have disappeared inside, inviting the brave, the greedy, the pure, and the wicked to join them. Your invitation arrived this morning. Do you dare follow them into the most infamous dungeon in all the Flanaess. An adventure for 11th level characters. Recreate your Living Greyhawk character at 11th level (using the last edition of the public playtest) or use one of our pre-gens provide onsite.

I believe these are D&D Next versions of adventures that were previously released years ago.

I'm surprised at the "make your own level 11".

Isles of Woe was CorS2-02 (translation: Living Greyhawk Core Special Year 2 Scenario 2, premiered at Origins 2002). Written by Jason Bulmahn (now of Paizo) with help from David Christ and Chris Tulach. It was then later released for Home Play. It was an island-crawl/dungeon delve and featured quite a few unique monsters and was part of the Ether Threat plot arc, iirc. I played this one when it was released for home play.

"Lost for untold ages, the Isles of Woe have resurfaced deep within the waters of the Nyr Dyv. The legends say little about the mythical Isles, but one thing is certain. The Isles were a place of powerful magic and even more powerful enemies. What caused their mysterious disappearance in the pre history of Oerth and perhaps even more importantly, what has caused them to return? For Characters Levels 6-8, although adjustable for characters 4-12. This event has a playing time of approximately 16 hours. "

Castle Greyhawk was CorS4-03 (translation: Living Greyhawk Core Special Year 4 Scenario 3), premiered at GenCon 2004 and again later at GenCon UK iirc). Written by Jason Bulmahn and David Christ.

2004 was the only year I attended GenCon and I played this core special. IIRC, our team almost won the event, we did really well finding the keys. However, the highlight for me came when my APL 14 or 16 friends from the Bandit Kingdoms played this; as I was watching (having already gone through the event), I quickly realized that the judge was overwhelmed. This dude had no clue how to run a high APL 3.5 table, let alone deal with the cheese that my friends were throwing at him. I, along with another BK regular judge, basically forced this bozo off the table and took over judging for the rest of the round. We ran it cold but it worked out well since the major monsters were all demons and Iuzian spellcasters, iirc (and, obviously, we kind of wrote the book on demons and Iuzians in the BK, so running them cold was no problem). We had a blast and so did our friends. Why the GenCon LG staff would assign a novice 3.5 DM to a LG APL 14-16 table boggles the mind.

Crazed followers of the Mad God have disappeared inside, inviting the brave, the greedy, the pure, and the wicked to join them. Your invitation arrived this morning. Do you dare to follow them into the most infamous dungeon in all the Flanaess? This is a special adventure for Living Greyhawk characters of any level. The event is divided into two parts, the low is for characters 8th level and lower while the high is for 9th level and up."

Anyhow, I'd almost be willing to look at D&D Next for something like this.
