Witch Hunter Robin

I have the first disc of this coming from Netflix, so I hope to see what all the buzz is about. I've heard some very positive things, so far.

FWIW, the first ep is tonight (again) on Cartoon Network.

I watched it, I liked it, but it's not really a series that makes a lot of sense. Big O was similar, but even less sense. I like Inuyasha, but new eps aren't for a while, I've seen the currrent cycle twice now.

Witch hunter Robin was fun, sort of disjointed, and seemed to end abruptly. The ending details why Robin was important, but the series never really explained some basics, like Craft Users being different than Witches how? (theoretically allegiance, and power level, but some of those Hunter's they sent out seemed pretty powerful...)

I really liked Witch Hunter Robin, too bad I missed the final episode last night.

As for Big O I love that one too. You can try this site for a plot analysis of Big O.
It helped me figure it out..sorta.

Speaking of which, can anyone please explain Big O...I've seen it through a few times and I still don't feel that I fundamentally understand it.

I started watching Big O in the middle, and it made no sense (it was fun though) and so made sure to catch it from the start when it cycled through, in the hopes it would make sense.
Then, someone told me that they'd seen it through many times, and it still made no sense, so I kind of gave up on it. I gotta work, so the 1AM cartoon watching had to end...

Not a bad series I liked it, I wish they explained the differences as well... the ending kind of was like BLAM its an end... Robin your uber... btw... uhh... if you get too UBER people will kill you... but your the hope... and then well... it just sort of ends...

Interesting thing I found out about the character of Amon, in spoiler tags because it does hinge on a plot point:

Well, not exactly the character, but I found that the Egyptian sun-god Amun was often called Zeus Ammon by the Greeks as they identified him with their Zeus. And it's notable that Zeus' role was as the child who slew Saturn. And the series made a thing of the Saturn myth, and the whole witch/human relationship in the last episode recalled that myth.

There should be a sequel series to this, and I wonder if the writers weren't planning on one originally, since it seems that they purposely left some plot pieces dangling. I like how it ended with the same sequence it opened with (if I remember, it started with Robin getting out of a car in front of HQ).

Yeah... I do agree they left off some stuff for Amon... I hope a sequel is in the works

I'm not sure the plot was set out from the begining. Perhaps the initial episodes that had no real overriding metaplot didn't sync well, so they decided to add something of an overriding concern to it. I believe it was two seperate seasons of 13 each, when did the old lady appear? (episode wise)

I'm not sure how the Saturn thing fit into it though, and how the whole "300 and blah years, the coven sank in the darkness" fit in.
