Witch Hunter Robin

Oh as an aside, the witch from the Episode does not have the "power" to trip people, actually his power is like the witch in the intro, some type of kinetic force...

No he is using the Craft which seems to be a learned magic/power with symbology, he was not as skilled as Robin, and she was able to change his power, Robin like the Witch can use the Craft...

if that made any sense...

Frankly, I kinda like shows where they don't quite explain everything. Leaves room for sequels, and spawns many message board arguments. You know, stuff like whether or not those "memories" where hundreds of "Big O's" (presumably with a Roger Smith within each one) walked around were the real thing or just symbolism...

I agree that it is about time Cartoon Network got a new anime or two to show off besides just the new Inuyasha episodes (which are already quite repetitive... the "Naraku fools/orders yet another demon/good guy to go after Inuyasha" formula is getting very old). I guess it's a little hard to find good stuff that stays PG-13 these days...

Since my more explanatory post was gobbled up, I'll just say that I was very unimpressed with Witch Hunter Robin (the 3 episodes I saw before giving up on it).

It was incredibly slow, uninteresting, and there were long scenes which lent nothing perceptively significant to the story.

I rented the first disc via Netflix, and I enjoyed it a great deal. I'd prefer a bit more explanation in the first few episodes, but I'm also used to that in anime; explanations will probably be forthcoming. I've never watched the episodes on Cartoon Network so I'll be slowly working my way through the series.

Chara: So far, I like pretty much everyone in the cast. The director is an interesting character... I wonder how he can get away with such a major policy change for the Japanese branch, and where the paranormals ('witches') go who get put in the big containers. Hmm. Usually that's a sign someone is Up To No Good. Amon.. mm, Amon. And I like Robin a lot, as well. Obvious romantic tension of a sort between her and Amon, and perhaps her and the hacker kid as well; I wonder if Robin is still keeping her vows or if she's left the convent. The poor hacker kid, who can never leave the building unless someone is with him... I feel for him.

Plots: Very good. And prime candidates for a GURPS Psionics game idea. I'm eager to find out what this Orbo stuff does, why Robin thinks it's disgusting, and what the 'normal' organization is like. Eager to find out why the normal organization kills 'witches' and how they differ from the trained psionics the STN employs, along with true witches like Robin.

I'll definately be getting more of this series.

Well, personally I think the Adult Swim lineup of anime sucks right now. Witch Hunter Robin has cool style, but the plot's silly. Inuyasha . . . it's fun, but it's been on too long without new episodes coming out.

Hey, new episodes in April...except it's really going to be early May, unless they start showing two/day.
