With which race do you identify?

Elf. Although, not the flighty aspect of them. I'm introspective, individualistic, and respect other's boundaries. I often think about consequences of actions and sometimes find it hard to ask for help. Moreover, I don't dress extragantly. Usually, just a t-shirt (maybe with something written on it!) and some jeans. Also, I relate to the fraility, paleness, and intelligenceof the elf.

Ironically, I've never played an elf. Only halflings and dwarves. I'll have to play an elf in the next game I join or make a sidequest to the elf kingdom in the quest I'm DMing.

Could have been the dwarves almost. But really I find I identify more with the Rakshasas or perhaps the devils.

Elves ... perhaps half elves a close second, but definitely elves.

Some time back a thread was started asking which DnD deities most matched one's ideals and worldview, and after a little reflection I realised it was a mix between Corellon and Ehlonna.

I'll play anything depending on the character concept (even half-orcs, who I generally mock due to their mediocre stats at anything but fighting.)



But I do love Halflings.

And not "I have hairy feet and like to stay at home, yet for some reason am an adventuring thief" hobbit halflings.

I mean weird semi-nomadic cool Halflings.

Have to go with undead, likely zombies.

As an insomniac there are long stretches of time where I'm only semi-conscious and just respond to what people say, lacking much in the way of initiative or forethought.

For me, this varies over time...but in general I'd have to say I identify more with particular characters while they're active than generalities such as race. And I've played 'em all...

If put to it, I'd say Human at the moment, but that might change. Perhaps the only one I've never had much use for is Gnome...but that too could change.

Used to be halflings, but a bizarro world opposite took over the race's name. Now I identify with gnomes the most.

This describes me nicely, with dwarves in third place.
