It is hard to say, since obviously lots of text in the books. But I put down 20%, there is some but it hardly registers.

I dunno, I voted 30%, though truthfully there's probably somewhere between 20-30%. I gave the edition the benefit of the doubt, since it seems to me that there's more fluff in the core books than they are given credit for.

It's all guidelines the DM can change with rule 0, right? That makes it all flavor text.

Either very few people have and have read the three core 4E books or few feel they can quantify how much of the total text qualifies as flavor text. I am guessing the latter but am wondering if some people can venture a guess why this is such a difficult task? There must be more than 24 EN Worlders who have read the 4E books and can suggest how much is flavor text, no?
