Normally, a hit die roll for the 20 CON mage is 1d6 + 5, so the possible results are 6-11. With the feat, the total of the roll has a minimum of 10. So, the possible results are 10 or 11.

Yeah, after reading it three times I am pretty sure this is right.

Man, when I first read it, I thought this was for when you leveled up and gained hp, not regained during a short rest. That might be a wee bit too good, yes? :D

While I agree on the interpretation, it really feels like there's an easier way to say that. Like... the minimum on your die roll when spending HD is your Con modifier.

I agree, the wording is odd.

It's a bit of an odd Feat all round tbh. Most things that give minimums of dice rolls give a re-roll, except the Rogues take a 10 power-thing.

There may be other modifiers to how many HP you regain. If, say, you were under a curse that meant you had a -2 modifier to how many HP you regain, that wizard would STILL regain 10 hit points.

It isn't actually a minimum on the die, it's a minimum on the total.

Cheers!

I voted "No" because he gets 10 hp most of the time, and 11 hp one-sixth of the time, assuming no other mods are in play.

The feat sets a minimum on the total, not just the physical die roll, and nothing has changed the maximum, which in this case is 11.
