Wizard World Texas - Whose going and why?

Hey gang,

I was wondering if anyone was heading for Wizard World Texas next week. Not strictly or even largely a gaming con I know but usually there is a cool limited edition Heroclix fig or the like.

Personally I'm hearing good things about the shows and I happen to be a big comic fan so I'm very curious as to what others think. I'm most excited about the larger Chicago and LA shows next year though.

Might try the gamers seeking gamers message board for this. Might get a few more hits from the Dallas crowd.

I'm not planning on going since it is a 3 hour drive one way for me...

I've visited a couple local shops two week ago and asked about coming up cons. Except for the Comic-Con in Plano last weekend, there was no response. I even specifically asked if there was a Wizard World coming up and all I got was shrugged shoulders.

This isn't surprising - last year's show here didn't get much support from local shops as well. I might attend, but it will all depend on schedule (is it on Thanksgiving weekend again?) and admission price. I'll look into it, but given the local community and lack of enthusiasm for most cons, I'd be surprised if it's heavily attended.

I enjoy comics but can't make it to the cons.

Civil War is making me wish I was still in comics and the whole Crisis and 52 is neat. Good time to be in comics again.
