Wizard's 3.5 archives

Does anyone know WOTC's plans for the old archives on their web page?

After a few sessions, our group is sort of dis-illusioned with 4e, and is considering going back to 3.5. If we decide this, I want to have available the wealth of stuff WOTC has added over the years (i.e. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/archives)

I don't really want to go through the download it all though, so I was wondering if they'd made an announcement if they were planning on keeping that up for the foreseeable future? I don't suppose someone else has it all in some sort of .zip file either by chance?

Thanks. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, still getting used to the new ENworld :)

I have wondered for quite some time what would happen with all of that stuff but have seen no announcement either way. If I were you, I'd pick up a couple of cheap flash drives and download as much as I could and back it all up on DVD. Start with the adventures and cliffhangers -

I have most of the archives already. I've always saved local copies as the content was released. Unfortunately, there's no convenient or legal way for me to share it with anyone. :(

I'm not sure about the legality of it all, but if it's available on the website for free, without registering, I would think it'd be fair game. At which point you could upload it to a site like Megaupload in a zip. It's not as nice as having your own site and whatnot, but it's certainly a way to share.

If someone could do it, that would be fantastic. I lost most of the stuff from there, that I had saved. :(

Yes, I could download it all again, piecemeal, but I'd rather not have to. . .

Nope. Though it might seem like it is okay, the copyright does not allow for another person or company to redistribution unless expressly given permission.

I have some/most of it as well, on my laptop (my D&D laptop), and continue to add to it whenever I get bored, or get the urge to add to it. I just don't think I can share it with anyone due to legal reasons.

Alright, thanks for the responses- guess I better get downloading then!

That's the best bet. Maybe this thread could be used to discuss the quality of some of them, perhaps to save everyone some time of point them toward the ones that should not be missed?

There's a thread somewhere. ... I remember commenting on it. The Rouse, I believe, confirmed that the old stuff isn't going anywhere. Heck, I poked around and still found 2nd Edition errata! So it would make zero sense to take 3.5 down.
